Knit Fit
Hello, I'm Back, Too!

It's Going to Be So Much FUN!

I have no pretty yarn to show you, not even a mountain view. It's been a little hectic around here.

I'm not just thinking about the retreat and what knitting should be packed, what clothes are needed, which shoes to take, but also what needs to be done when a guest is coming.  Friday can't come quickly enough, as I'm going to leave work (a little early) to pick up a friend from the airport.  We'll visit the local LYS and then head back to my place for dinner. Let the relaxing, retreat time begin!

The next morning we'll drive UP the canyon (with Suzy) to Alta for the retreat!  My heart is jumping up and down at thoughts of it.  My guest and I started blogging about the same time (2004!), but it's been 5 years since we've had a face to face (Rhinebeck 2006). To say I'm excited is an understatement.

Have you guessed who it is? It's VICKI!! (which you already know if you read her blog).

My retreat projects are packed (an extra one included just in case) and now I really must concentrate on packing a few clothes. As always when a guest is coming, I'm overly worried (it's silly, I know!) and trying to figure out everything that can be done to make Vicki's trip relax, fun and enjoyable.

I get stressed in the same way -- and it IS silly, but I totally get it. Meanwhile, I am so ready for retreating and relaxing and re-everythinging related to that, that I could even be feelin' more laid-back and easy-going than usual. Heh. (Is it tomorrow yet???)

It sounds wonderful! What projects are you taking? What will you be eating? Which LYS will you visit? (I'm wanting to enjoy this retreat vicariously, along with you, you see.) You and Vicki will have a lovely time together, it sounds like. I can't wait to hear all about it!

I guess I'd better start packing, since I'll be going up there tomorrow morning. Haven't done anything except put my hiking poles in the car.

Have as much fun as you can stand! I remember Alta and it has the feel of a magical place.
I think I am going to treat myself this winter to one of our local retreats at Madrona Fiber Arts in Tacoma WA, and stay a night or two in the beautiful Hotel Murano where the gathering, classes and marketplace are held instead of driving back and forth and hour or so each way.
Hope you have a great visit with your guest too!!

Hiking poles, oh, yeah! Thanks, Cheryl! Must also remember water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. Knitting, laughing, Alta sunshine, silliness, friends...here we come!

I hope you and the grrls have a wonderful weekend!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend!

It sounds like you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you. Enjoy!

Have a fabulous time!!!!!!

Oh, you're going to have SO MUCH FUN!!

You are going to have a wonderful time and I will admit that I'm jealous. Are you going to let Vicki stay in my room? I guess it's okay. Sigh.

The one thing you've forgotten on the list: how to make the retreat a relaxed, wonderful experience for you, too. Have a lovely knitting weekend!

Have a super time!

I have done a scrapbooking retreat, but never a knitting retreat. I must put that on the "to-do" list! Hope you and Vicki have a wonderful time!

Have an awesome time at the retreat!!!! I wish I was going too, maybe next year.

I am so envious... both of Vicki for getting to hang out with you, and of you, as I have never met Vicki face-to-face. I can always hope to get to travel again... next year, SOAR will be in Lake Tahoe if you want to start thinking of coming out here!

Have a fantastic time - would *love* to meet both of you!

Have fun!

Lucky you, have so much fun! Someday I'll be able to join you guys up there, someday!

Oh, have a GRAND time! (Like. . . how can you NOT?)

It'll be awesome and fun and awesomely fun! Give Vicki a Hi-howdy from me - I know you two (and the whole group) will have a BLAST!!

This sounds like a perfect weekend! How long have you been doing this retreat at the Alta Lodge?

It all sounds perfect, Margene. Simply perfect.
