How to Survive...

To My Friends in Blogland

Lanterncoveredinsnow

Dear Friends-

Thank you for being a part of my life, for reading, commenting, lurking, and for encouraging my daily musings.  You are a valuable part of my life, my creative life, which means I can't imagine my world without this blog.  We will continue on in 2011 together.

The only list I'm making this year is a grocery list. (Who wants to go to the store twice?)  Since my big life event I haven't been unable to attain many of my knitting goals.  Intentions and deadlines have rarely been met, whether knitting or life oriented. This I have learned, finishing a project happens in its own time.  I can only surmise it is because my focus has changed (or perhaps, I have no focus). New additions to my life (such as gardens and chickens) have opened new doors and all this learning can be overwhelming. Who knew a year ago that I'd love caring for chickens, or enjoy gardening, both planning and planting.  I'm  also enjoying new flavors and new recipe ideas, which might have something to do with the garden.  Life has made a sharp turn and it feels right.

Simplifying, organizing, and minimizing will remain a large part of my focus for 2011. Hopefully I can keep this focus, but after the big clean out of my junque room, it feels good to be in the space, to sit and read, spin or knit, or to just be. Simplifying will move into other rooms and aspects of my life. This too shall become part of the process of life...a slow change, a simmering idea, and new focus.

This has turned into a bit of a ramble, but it's as close as I'll come to creating intentions or resolutions. If I have any intention it's to enjoy the moment, give more to my friends and family, and to be the best person I can be.

Dear friends, thank you for being a part of my life and may 2011 be as good as it can be.

It's a perfect list, Margene! I can think of no better intentions than to enjoy the moment, give more to friends and family, and be the best person you can be. Happy New Year!

I think there can be no better intention than being in the moment. Happy New Year!

i love your intenetions, they feel just right. happy new year.

Enjoying the moment is the most important intention of all. Welcome to 2011!

May your intention of simplifying and living in the moment be fulfilled twofold in 2011!

Wishing you a very happy new year!

It's perfect because it's you. Growth can be painful and time consuming, but worth all the effort. You got it right, grrl!!!!

You said it most beautifully! AND Thank you for being in my life..you're a wonderful friend and inspiration to all that follow your blog or know you in 'the real world'..
I think we have to 'let life' have it's own way..too much planning can ruin the chance for an occasional surprise.
All the best in 2011 to YOU and Smith..
Love,
Dianne

I'm grateful for your perspective on life, and knitting, and chickens and growing things. Thanks for continuing to share with us. (I found the year of sweater knitting exhausting----just reading about it, so I'm grateful for the refocus.) LOL

Thank you for being such an inspiration and best wishes to you in 2011!

Happy New Year, Margene!

Every time someone talks about having New Year's intentions (instead of resolutions), all I can think of is "the road to hell".

I think your grocery list is the best way to go.

Thank you for being a big part of my life!
