DOS Ate My ToT

Let The Mystery Be(gin)

Carole talked about it yesterday and I know several others, including Kym and Patty, are on board. Some of us have ordered yarn, and some are using stash (always a good idea). We're going to join Kirsten in her 2014 Mystery Shawl and you can, too! We're waiting with bated breath for June 1st to come.

I couldn't resist the gradient yarns from Black Trillium and ordered (what else) a beautiful gray called Crater. The lightest color is in shades of pale silver and the darkest is dyed a semi-solid black. I'm looking forward to seeing where this mystery takes me.

Last year I joined without a clue of what the shawl would be. Kim helped with colors, colors I had no idea would create one of my favorite shawls ever, Germinate. I've worn it to death this past year and I've thought about knitting another, because I love it so.

Mystery KALs are always a gamble, but nothing ventured, nothing gained and, since Kirsten's designs have always been up my alley, I'm going for it.

Enjoy your long weekend and I hope your weather is as fine as ours!

I'm waiting for my gradient Black Trillium yarn with great excitement! (I'm thinking it will arrive today!!!) Can't wait to get on with this mystery tour! Kirsten's shawls are always such winners.

Oh, that gradient yarn is really cool!

Have a great long weekend yourself. :) I'm taking tomorrow off!

OOOOOH, how exciting. And, I love the gradient you chose. Can't wait to see what it becomes. Happy weekend, Sweetie. Enjoy your days. Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay - I WAS planning on using stash yarn but now? Now I want one of those Black Trillium kits, too. Thanks a lot. ;-)

I bought my pattern yesterday and started scouting yarn. I don't have 500 yards of fingering weight in stash, so this will be a new purchase. Thinking maybe Swans Island, which isn't gradient but is organic and semi-solid and makes lovely lace! Happy Weekend to you too!

Maybe I will join along this year, I haven't knit a shawl in what seems like forever! Love your colors!!!

You actually made me think about this. :)

Oooh. Stop me now. What Claudia said, too.

I'm sure it will be stunning. Gorgeous yarn and a fabulous designer will certainly make a winning combination.

I've never done a mystery KAL before, but I signed up for this one and ordered the Black Trillium gradient yarn...can't wait to get it!

I always think that mystery knitters are a brave bunch, but like you said, nothing ventured, nothing gained. With that lovely yarn I'm sure your gains will be many!

I got my gradient yarn the other day. I can't wait to see what she comes up with this year. I bound off my second Germinate the other night. Can't wait to see the gray colors in a shawl.

Okay - now I'm rethinking my stash dive too...This is going to be fun. Your colors are beautiful!

I'm ordering my yarn today! I love your choice...can't wait to start!

Temptresses. All of you.

Love your choice of yarns once again, ha ha :) Actually Melanie's yarns are at the top of my favorites list. Before she moved to Portland OR she would come to knit nights at my LYS (in Redmond WA) and she is not only super talented but extremely nice. Maybe that's why I just decided to join you on this mystery shawl journey and I bought the pattern. Now I need to check out my many stash yarn options, including some Pebble sock.
I'm sorry to hear about Moxie feeling poorly. I hope he is resting comfortably now.
