Thank you for your descriptions! I am going to add to GoodReads from here.

Great list and reviews. I've been wanting to read The Goldfinch and many of the other titles look interesting.

Impossible Odds-Jessica Buchanan. It was a slog and I gave up. I loved reading your list!!!

I concur with your review of The Goldfinch. Sometimes I got so frustrated with Theo and his inability to trust - especially Hobie - but then I'd think about what happened to him and realize just how real his reactions were. Poor kid. Boris made me nervous as a cat! I can see that my Good Reads queue is going to get longer today.

Always love your recommendations, Margene! (Wish we could talk "Goldfinch" over a cup of tea. . . or a martini or two!)

Thank you for sharing your list; I've added at least five of your books to my to-read list! I felt the same about The Goldfinch. There were times when I wanted to slam the book shut in frustration and times that I couldn't wait to read more, especially about Hobie and Boris. Happy Reading!

Toddling off RIGHT NOW to go add a bunch of these to my Goodreads list! Thanks for the recommendations. :)

Soon we'll be able to sit outside and read in the warmth, right?!?

Oh how I admire your reading! I'm off to Goodreads too and to add you!

I think Boris is one of the more interesting characters to show up lately. My favorite since the birth of Lisbeth Salander.

Lots of interesting books to check out here!

Have you read The Luminaries? I'm on the waiting list at our library for The Goldfinch and hope to get it in the next week or two. I just finished Painter of Silence and really enjoyed it.

I just finished This Dark Road to Mercy by Wiley Cash. I liked it; I thought it was better than his first book. I am currently reading The Spinning Heart. I have a soft spot for Irish and Scottish books, too. I will have to add some of these to my list. Thanks for the reviews!

6-7-9-10 have hit my to read list! thanks for inspirational recommendations. I think the book i would most recommend that i recently read would be daughters for a time.

So glad to hear that your crocuses are blooming for you!

So many interesting books!

Thanks for the commentary on the books you listed. I am on the home stretch with Goldfinch and have found it very compelling.

I'm going to listen to the Goldfinch when we go to Europe in May - can't wait! And the Rosie Project by Graeme Simpson was the last book I finished and I LOVED it!

Dad is Fat…..it was so funny

Be Careful What you Wish For by Jeffrey Archer is the last book I read. It is book #4 of 5 in The Clifton Chronicles. I'm really enjoying the series! Although I'm not sure how long I have to wait for the final book to be released....

I trust your reading advice! I am eager to read The Goldfinch and The Spinning Heart. I loved Things Fall Apart, too. I had no idea about the drawings in the Alexie book--I listened to it, which was terrific, too!

Just finished the Goldfinch last week and totally agree with your assessment. Wish I had a book club near by with whom to discuss it.

I just heard an interview with David Stuart MacLean and his story sounds incredible. I'm sure that the book was fascinating.

I just finished Fat Tuesday by Sandra Brown and it was fun but nothing special.
