- If only I could be more like Norma and come up with blog fodder as easily as she does. Her post today is about being green. Smith and I do the best we can to be green by rarely forgetting our reusable grocery bags and rarely drinking from plastic bottles. (We use our SIGGs as much as possible.)
- Vicki is also a great blogger, as she has an eye for finding new and wonderful ways to photograph landscapes, oddments, and people (children especially). She shares many parts of her life and has such a way with words it's inspiring.
- Chris not only has amazing and disturbing book covers, but she also has Chaos and Mayhem for eye candy. If only my boyz would cooperate more often.
- Many bloggers have cut back, or stopped blogging altogether, as Ravelry
, Facebook, Twitter and other online distractions lead them away. I am tempted to cut back (more), too.
- I am anxiously waiting for the little nursery on the corner to open (April 1st!). As soon as purchases can be made, several patio pots will be filled with flowers. (Smith is thinking tomatoes as he found a big half barrel.)
- It seems knitting is rare here in Zeneedleland due to arm/shoulder problems, but I have a docs appointment next week and we'll see what he says. I've been knitting (a tiny bit) and have the beginnings of a swatch. This is a swatch and only a swatch, but when it's finished, washed, dried, and I've had a chance to check gauge, it could grow into something more...stay tuned.
I'm tuning in.... hope the doc has something to say so you can knit.

Don't forget...if you would like to do something easy to be green tomorrow night is Earth Night. (8:30 local time) Turn your lights off for an hour with much of the rest of the world! It can be a lot of fun!

You inspire me, Margene. Plain and simple. I miss many of the "old" bloggers and blogging the way it used to be -- back in the olden days (2005!). ; ) I am often tempted to cut back, too; I definitely have a love-hate relationship with all "social" media. As demonstrated by Typepad in the not-so-distant past, it's all about business.
Anyway. I wish you a wonderful weekend, and a glowing report (reinstating knitting!) from the doc next week!

Nice looking swatch. I hope it washes up to be the right size. Your precious knitting time should not be used on misbehaving swatches.
I keep hoping that things will get better and that the desire to blog will return. Maybe it's a seasonal thing? Maybe the need will return with my desire to knit and give a rat's. ;^)

Remember - it's dark greenish black. There is no teal. There is no teal. There is no teal.

Thanks for the mention!! Here's to getting that shoulder back in action!
I hope you don't give up on blogging totally. I would miss you!
Hope you and Smith have a relaxing weekend.

I'll drink to a good prognosis!! Happy Friday. I see less and less posting. Must be a sign of the times.

ooh, Cotton Fleece! I often think of your red Cotton Fleece cardigan and how I want one just like it, but I don't even have any in my stash. And I'm sort of imposing a "knit my stash" rule on myself.
I'm wishing for you some sort of a miracle like I experienced with my elbow. I am still gushing over that at every opportunity. It has made SUCH a difference in my quality of life, I still can't even believe it.

Knitting has been sparse around here too and I don't even have a particularly good excuse. I've just been preoccupied and kinda lazy. And I have spring fever pretty bad.
Have a good weekend.

Hoping for the best with the dr's appt! Love Cotton Fleece.

That whole shoulder/elbow/arm thing is going around! I'm getting very concerned about mine, which is NOT getting better with rest. (Rest, what rest? All these trips have me lifting heavy suitcases, oy!) Doctor is next. Don't give up the blogging (yours is one of the best), but take a break and refresh, if need be. That helped me and I've gotten over my "writer's block" finally. If anyone has a good excuse, it's you! Everything will fall back into place eventually, I'm sure.

The swatch is looking lovely, and I will be here to see what it might become.
It's gonna be alright. That's what I am going to keep in my mind.

Yes, would prefer you keep blogging. Hoping the doc finds something easily fixed.
Posted by: Laurie | March 27, 2010 at 05:06 AM
I hope the appt results in an improvement! Don't you dare stop blogging.

I hope the doc can give you an easy fix!
I love to watch your projects grow - I would truly miss that (and you!) if you stopped blogging...

Joining my voice to the crowd hoping your doctor has something to help you and just wanted to say I would miss you if you stopped blogging. As with all things, do what is right for you and everything else will fall into place.

It all does get a bit overwhelming doesn't it? Facebook, Ravelry, Twitter, blogging, working....and some where in between we are supposed to fit in a life...sheesh!
I'd miss you though, so I'm with Carole...don't you dare. ;)

Dear Margene,
You're a sharp Cookie..You always tend to do what is right, go the right direction and stand on your own 2 feet..You don't need others to provide you blog fodder..If it's not original and it isn't your stuff..it isn't your blog..
I've basically stopped visiting lots of the blogs I used to read because they seem to be copied from another..be a free thinker..as you are, post when you damn well please..or when you feel like it..but maintain the level of posts you've always given us..don't rely on others to give you direction. That's why I read you..you're an individual..Stick to it!!
And on a positive note..don't even think about NOT blogging..but if it feels right not doing it so frequently..go for it~

I'd hate to see you stop posting...less is okay - I think we've all done that - but Oh no, please don't stop altogether!
(((hugs)))

I took the weekend off from the computer - hugely liberating - and missed this post. One of the things I enjoy most about your posts is how beautifully they are written; like if Jane Austen were to blog. Your calm, persistent, hopefulness is a beacon in a cyber-wasteland of glib. I appreciate your words.

I adore your blog. Hope you find out what's up with the pain and get relief and back to your knitting asap.
I've smashed my hand and not been knitting or blogging since January either, so I totally understand how you're feeling. I'm only just getting back into the groove. I think that Rav and twitter just don't replace blogging. Looking forward to your posts whenever or however often (or not) they happen.
Best, Renee

We all just 'are who we are'... blogging should not become yet another chore, of which there are enough. I have enjoyed your reduced level of posting, and agree with other comments - there's more depth to blogging, over Rav, FB or Twitter, and I appreciate those who are continuing. And, I love the new sweater pattern:)

geesh - still no knitting? i send a hug of sympathy -
these aches and pains from aging are for the birds! (yet, as Laurie often says, it beats the alternative!)
