From the second day out of surgery I have been walking. Short distance, tiny steps at first, but before I left the hospital, longer stride, almost a mile per day. It is the perfect time of year to walk, as our fall is cool, sometimes crisp, but the sun is true and bright. Tinges of fall color dot the mountain and valley trees. It feels so good to breath deeply and enjoy the rich season before us.

Impressive stamina. No DVTs for our grrl. Glad you are progressing well. (Thrilled, actually.)

Intentional, mindful walking is so very healing -- for the body and for the soul. :-) Wow! Not a cloud in that mountain-y blue sky! Fall beckons. . .

Margene, my husband had heart bypass surgery a couple of weeks ago. This morning, I updated my own blog about this and began to catch up with the blogs I usually read. Imagine my surprise to hear that you also had some sort of heart surgery!
Good, healing thoughts are being sent your way!

Ditto, ditto, ditto to the comments above. A perfect time of year to be on the mend and to enjoy all that's around you. Beautiful photo.
I heard a piece on NPR about Sudden Aspen Decline and thought of you. Are you seeing it there too?
