What did I say about it not yet being time for fall or winter? As if to prove me wrong, the weather ran the gamut this weekend. Saturday it was 99 degrees...a hot, windy and stifling summer day. Sunday was cooler, blustery and ended in a decidedly fall like thunderstorm. Sunday morning it was hard to believe just how hard it rained, then hailed, with thunder and lightning involved, and then ended with snow on the mountain peaks. It was just a little too much like winter!
Monday afternoon the sky was clear and we ended the day by having dinner on the patio. If you don't like the weather...
The knitting ran the gamut, too. A nice little flurry of finished projects dropped from my needles one after the other. First was Lady Day . She'll have a proper photo shoot post later this week. Then the elegant and lusciously soft Malabrigo On the Vine Scarf blossomed into her full glory.

Handspun Not Quiet Morning Surf crossed the finish line and half a pair of the Knotty Glove brought up the rear.
Now it's on to glove two, another scarf (to be revealed) and the sweater slated to be worn at Rhinebeck this year, Daniel.
Details on all of the above will be coming. Hope your Holiday weekend was relaxing and enjoyable. It was too short, eh?

Whoa! That's eye candy for this return-to-work day!!

The weekends are always too short! Love all your FOS!

I was just thinking the weekends are too short when I rolled out of bed a short time ago. Sigh...
Snow already, eh? That's frightening!

All so pretty. Your weather blows my mind! We had upper 90's yesterday and 90's the rest of the weekend. I just heard we should have the 70's by mid-week. We are also slated to get some of Gustav. Always interesting. What yarn for Daniel? I love the design.

Wow, you were BUSY! Looking forward to the official photoshoot for Lady Day.
Yesterday the high was 90ish. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 65-70...

The prognosticators are calling for much cooler weather west of the Mississippi. We enjoyed clear 80's though perhaps some of Hanna this coming weekend. I continued knitting onward on my Round the Bend and started a guernsey vest.

Wow! The weather was crazy we thought the roof was going to blow off out by us. I can't believe how much you get done in one weekend.

Oh why can't I be half as productive as you on the needles? *sigh* That's quite the impressive layout missy! And lovely colors too!

It was WAY too short. You made the most of it, though! ;)

You sure do get a lot done!

Way too short, indeed! Beautiful FOs there.
SNOW!!!

I'm with Manise...I worked all weekend and only got two inches on my jacket sleeves done. How do you do it? Can't wait to see more of all the FO's!

You freed up a lot of needles this weekend! I love the buttons you chose for Lady Day.

I was not not not happy with yesterday's weather. Well, the morning part anyway. But your FOs are all lovely!

Snow already? That's too much! Hope it's not a predictor of great quantities of snow and winter to come.

Wow! You accomplished so much this weekend!

When's our next long weekend???
Lovely stuff there, Margene. I noticed the "surf" scarf on Flickr or Ravelry over the weekend -- lovely!

Hail and snow?!
Winter better hurry up and get here or I'm coming over. We're back to fire season and I want to start a sweater.
You're such a knitting tease.

OMG! Snow? This year is going way to fast!

As always such nice f/o's..you're such a tease! You obviously used every waking minute of your 'short' weekend!
As much as I LOVE snow..it's a bit too soon!
We're in the mid 80's today and going to 90 tomorrow..then well see what Hannah blows our way~

What a great amount of finishing - looking forward to seeing them all in more detail.
Posted by: AmyP | September 02, 2008 at 05:07 PM
Wow, you really got a lot done! I am amazed..but also inspired to take up some itmes needing just a bit of finish work. The weather was similar here, and we needed to fish out extra blankets and fleece... but as you say, it swings right back in the mountains and summer is on the rise again. Got to pick hops up at the high country house and hang out on the porch.

I wish I had your stamina, I really do! And as always, your taste is impeccable. The handspun scarf looks like a stunner--can we see it on you, please? :-) And I think I have to go queue the gloves right now.
