This and That - Or More Lists
Who is that kid?
- I have never seen American Idol.
- Awhile back I learned about David A. from my office mates.
- He attends the same High School I did.
- Nearly everyone in Utah is aghast and agape that he lost.
- I know the head of Public Relations for the School District.
- She thought David Cooke would win.
- She's been overworked during this whole mess and she's glad it's over.
- So am I. I don't need to hear about it any longer.
- David will still go on to a career.
- Why am I talking about this? Bleh.
Does she knit?
- Little knitting is being accomplished
- The Shetsoie Shawl is set up and ready for the feather and fan section.
- If need be I'll fudge to make it work.
- The yarn makes this a difficult project as it's so hairy and fine.
- Japanese Vines is a snap to knit and very pretty, too.
- She'll be off the needles soon.
- I've started a sweater.
- You'll find out which one soon enough.
- The weekend will be spent knitting and spinning.
- More spinning (the reason I'm not knitting) than knitting, me thinks.
Weather Report
- Last weekend we had record breaking heat.
- The last few days have been 15 degrees below normal.
- It's been raining for three days, too.
- New snow has fallen in the mountains (over a foot!).
- Our heat in the house is on again.
- I'm wearing socks...again.
- That means the new pedicure is under wraps. (How about the blue toes?)
- The new sandals are closeted.
- The snow melt has slowed.
- But, the rain could cause flooding.
Please Help
- Pippikneesocks is in need of help from our fiber community.
- Please read Amy's posts and help if you can.
- Amy is knitting a shawl for an auction.
- The Indigo Moon batt she auctioning is awesome.
- I'll be bidding. You should, too.
- Claudia is fund raising for the MS Society.
- She has tons of prizes to give away.
- You can donate here to this worthy cause.
- Let's make sure Claudia and her man are #1 again next year!
- Give to both if you can. Please.
AND, give a big welcome the new member of our family. Last night we (somewhat impulsively) adopted Max, a 7 year old schnauzer. Moxie is not amused (maybe because Max is better groomed), but Max is a doll. Don't worry Mox, we still love you and you'll be seeing a stylist on Sunday.
Have a wonderful LONG weekend....we ALL will!

The weather there is pretty crazy, isn't it? Is it normal? We had record heat last week too and this week has been windy. I am just glad to know that the wind is going subside as this would help the firefighters a lot with the enormous wild fire!
I actually like David A and thought he would win ... but it really doesn't matter, I think.
Wish you and yours a wonderful weekend too.

Hi Max,
that was a good choice, I'm sure, and Moxie will get used to have a new pal, don't be afraid.
You all have a wonderful weekend, too!

I woke up to the furnace running last night - ugh! But it's supposed to be a wonderful weekend here, I just hope they are right.
I predict a great relationship between Max and Moxie!

Mox, Max...I'm confused.
Margene, you know I love you. You know I respect you. I trust all your color choices. But. I'm a doc. And your toes look....hypoxic. Not enough oxygen. Like they need CPR. Sorry. I tried hard. But I couldn't change my brain.

My heat's only been off a few days this year; this is not a good thing. It is supposed to turn nicer around here so maybe we can finally turn if off for the summer (doubtful).
Max is a lucky doggie to be adopted by you; I'm sure Moxie will get used to him quickly.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Congratulations on your new addition! More puppy love!
Posted by: DebbieB | May 23, 2008 at 05:20 AM
The best part of your post...MAX...whoo hoo! Moxie will have his nose bent out of shape for a litte bit, but then he will be thankful.
Hugs to you, Smith, Moxie and Max!!

Your weather sounds weird, too. I'm sorry. Your blue toes look lovely. I'm so pale that if I try the blue I look like a cadaver. Shetsoie looks lovely, but the yarn looks alot like Kidsilk Haze and that's a bugger to rip. In fact, you really can't. Happy new pup to you. Isn't it nice to have two again? And, you saved a life. Good for you and Smith (good pic of your guy, too). Have a FABULOUS weekend, grrrrl.

Posted by: Kathy | May 23, 2008 at 05:47 AM
I have watched American Idol. Once or twice in its first or second season. I have never gotten its appeal, but I know I'm "weird."
Ohhhh, I can't believe you have a Max! Just like THAT. And poor Moxie. I BET he's not amused. Have a great weekend, you all!
Posted by: norma | May 23, 2008 at 05:51 AM
Congratulations on your new family member! I'm sure Moxie will (eventually) enjoy the new buddy.

I've never seen American Idol, either!
Welcome, Max!! Give Moxie a chance to warm up to you. :)

Welcome Max!

Welcome to Max! What a cutie!
I don't keep up with American Idol...
Are those Chaco sandals? Very cute!
Posted by: Jennifer | May 23, 2008 at 07:19 AM
Love the blue toes. I hope that it warms up enough for you to show them off again soon.
I hope Moxie and Max become fast friends. I'm sure they will.

Such cute dogs! I hate American Idol, I don't know why it is such a big deal.
Posted by: Lauren | May 23, 2008 at 07:25 AM
OH, A NEW BABY!!!! And with a perfect name to fit in. Can't wait to meet him. (Hi Smith!)
I only watched American Idol once, when my sister forced me to. Hated it. Couldn't care less about it.
I've gotta admit - as I scrolled down the screen and saw a peripheral glimpse of your toes, it scared me. I thought you'd banged your toe and it turned black! Then I scrolled more and saw it was just nail polish - whew!

What a cute boy! OK, both boys.

Looks like you'll be having fun this weekend getting acquainted with the new member of the family. Have fun!
Posted by: Wool Winder | May 23, 2008 at 08:11 AM
Your first list made me laugh because I don't watch Idol either. We experienced the same weather issues you did but not enough to need any heat in the house. No flooding either.
Congrats on your new baby Max! I'm sure Mox will become friends with him soon. It's so great that you adopted an older dog.
Posted by: monica | May 23, 2008 at 08:28 AM
Poor Moxie! Hee hee hee. He'll get over it. ;-)

welcome to the newest addition to the family :-)

Cute doggies - better in pairs! As to your "dogs," well, I've told you before that I'm jealous of your feet. I don't care if your toenails are blue, they still look great. I'm glad I'm wearing socks...
Posted by: Nora | May 23, 2008 at 09:41 AM
Wow! I hope Moxie & Max get to be fast friends soon.
Posted by: Anne | May 23, 2008 at 10:03 AM
Awwww... Mox and Max! How sweet!
And Smith's 'stache is back! YEAH!(you didn't needle felt that on, did you?)
Posted by: Stacey (just Stacey) | May 23, 2008 at 10:10 AM
Squee!! New puppy!!! :)
Mox it's okay...you'll like having a little brother to play with (eventually!)
Blue toes. Hm. Why not?
Happy LONG Memorial Day Weekend!

Congrats on your new baby! I have four myself, so I'm all about furry new family members.
Have a wonderful spinning weekend, Margene!
Posted by: Leah | May 23, 2008 at 01:19 PM
welcome Max! I've never seen a more disgruntled expression than that on Moxie's face...too funny! Congratulations, you two on your new fur-child! btw, just so you don't feel put upon by the weather all by yourselves, it's been hailing and snowing and raining alternately here for two days now. eh.
Posted by: caroline | May 23, 2008 at 01:41 PM
Re. The weather.
My bad, totally my fault. It's rainy and cold here, too. When I bought the AC unit last weekend I predicted that Mother Nature and Murphy's Law would co-conspire so I would not need to use it. :(
Posted by: Jocelyn | May 23, 2008 at 04:44 PM
Welcome to Max, what a cutie. Moxie is a cutie, too.
Posted by: Suzanne | May 23, 2008 at 05:39 PM
I am with you on the complaining about the weather. There isn't any snow here (thank goodness...the last snow last month was enough!) But last weekend we had 90 degree weather and this week it's been raining and COLD COLD COLD! I live right outside of Seattle and this year has just been freaky weird.
Max is a cutie and Moxie will get use to him soon enough!
Glad to see that Smith's 'stache is fully grown back :)
Posted by: Stephanie | May 23, 2008 at 08:09 PM
Welcome, Max! Do you know how lucky you are, to be adopted by such nice people? Now, fetch the yarn for Mommy so she can knit some more...
Posted by: Pat K | May 23, 2008 at 09:43 PM
Oh, yay, another Schauz! Max, you are one lucky guy. I just hope you win Moxie over quickly, as he can be a grouchy selfish guy but really has a loving heart underneath that ungroomed exterior.

Welcome Max! Trust me - you signed on with a couple of good dog parents. You'll be spoiled rotten by the end of the weekend. Be nice to Moxie while he's adjusting to having a newcomer around. :)
