You Know It's Spring....
...when you can go for a walk in a short sleeve T-shirt and not freeze to death. That's a sure measure for spring, in any case and Sunday proved to be almost perfect. For a bit of protection from the cool breeze wind that threatened the perfect day I brought along a favorite shawl. She was a nice contrast to the cool, blue NBT.
Knitting this T was a walk in the park. Simple shaping, easy stockinette and yummy, good quality yarn all made this project a sweet companion. Not to mention the fabu color, which is one of my very favorites.
The last 4 months have been cooler than normal and May is shaping up in the same way…spring is sitting on the fence. Spring's beautiful colors dance in the sun, but then retreat as clouds of gray fill the sky and cold winds blow. She is her proverbial fickle self, but my new T-shirt is true blue.
Pattern: Nothin' But a T designed by Alison
(pattern formerly in Magknits)
Yarn: Rowan Calmer - 6 balls Tinkerbelle Blue (I love this yarn because it is washable and can be thrown in the dryer, too.
Needle: Addi Turbo Size 8
Time to Knit: April 26 – May 9, 2008
Modifications: Lengthened 3" on the body before waist decreases, 1" on sleeves before increase. Picot hems on body, sleeve and around neck.

Sky blue! Spring blue. The picot trim works really well.
We are cold/hot/cold/hot/cold here too.

That T is so cute and it looks fabulous on you!

Your tee is so pretty. It looks both cool and a bit dressy. I really like it. It's always nice to see you smile in sunshine (so rare!). I love your horsey, too: ))

So excellent! I love Calmer, but do you find it a bit hot? I seem to. I think for me it would be better for a long-sleeve fall top than a summer top. In fact, I might rip out my tank that I made from it.

That's the perfect spring tee!

Lovely NBT, and the color is so pretty. I've just discovered Calmer and need to put NBT in my queue.

Perfect!

Very flattering! That t-shirt weather is year round down here. Maybe a late spring for you means a mild summer?
Posted by: Carrie | May 13, 2008 at 07:54 AM
The tee looks great! I love the picot especially. (The good thing about cool springs is more beautiful flowering trees...our dogwoods are luminous this year and the cherry and apple trees just magnificent. And the flowers last longer!)

The shaping is perfect. Keep the good weather coming...

Those leaves on the trees are bigger than ours. So far you win the spring sweepstakes.

It's going to be 104F here Thursday. I will do my best to send you some of that heat to help your spring along. ;^)

You are always so good at selecting projects that will work for you, not just running after the latest fad pattern. The tee looks beautiful on you. Spring looks beautiful on you, too! Enjoy!

I have some of this yarn in my stash, but I can't get even tension. Drives me crazy. Anyway, I love the color/pattern combination. So nice and classic looking.

Holy cow, that's cute. Yay for spring - our summer arrived Saturday when I held a BBQ grad party for the hubs and the thermometer hit 95! My guests melted. But the ice-cold beer and watermelon was perfect. I'm gonna make me one of those durn t-shirts one day.

What a great T! And the picot edging makes it!
(((hugs)))

It is blue-tiful, of course! Lucky you, being able to wear nothin' but a T! I wonder when we're ever going to hit 70 around here. We're still in the mid- to upper-30s at night and my furnace kicks on in the morning -- I hate it, but otherwise I'd freeze.

How many times have the commenters said "Perfect!"??? Surely at least a hundred because it's Perfect in every sweet and lovely way. I completely want one that fits me just like that and looks even Half As Pretty! :)

You look so happy and I can see why: you're surrounded by mountains, the sun in shining and the NBT looks fabulous on you. Strut away!
Posted by: Karen B. | May 13, 2008 at 05:14 PM
You look sparkling, and I do love how that bit of fire adds a touch of variety from basic blue. Calmer is one yarn I would add to my stash, even though I really do have enough:)
