Where Oh Where Can My (Sock) Mojo Be...the One with the Waggley Tail

Cantseemtogethesesockstocatchfire You'd think a sock would be perfect travel knitting, but I think my sock mojo has been lost or it has run off and deserted me.  Both the Rattlesnake Creek Socks and the Flickering Flames were started early enough in March to be finished before the end of PS Fire, but without sock mojo...it was a no go. They are both great patterns and the yarns are to my liking, too....it's just that lost mojo.  If you happen to see it will you please send it home?  Maybe it's wandering aimlessly and unhappily alone...dazed and confused.

RainforestsocksforpsearthI'd love to start a pair of sock for the Earth Edition of PS  and I do did intend on knitting with STR Rainforest Jasper, because it would be a perfect Earthy project.  However, I'm not sure they'd be finished and it's silly to start a new sock with two neglected socks already on the needles. Maybe the mojo will get it's mojo on and find its way back to me.  Yoo-hoo! Sock Mojo...where ARE YOU?

My mindset at the moment is focused on lace and sweater knitting. Ravelry has been a big enabler help as I've been able to turn unwanted yarn into an enjoyable project.  The Louet Euroflax that had been haunting my stash (a long ago failed project, or two) was morphed into Rowan Calmer for a new Nothin' But a T.  NBT will be the next summer project, something quick, cool and easy.  In anticipation, another project is also coming to the fore, but a little restraint is needed to keep me from overwhelm.  The ideas and desires start coming in waves (could this be spring fever?), and only when CeCe is finished will I share more.

Zetor has been easier to pack around than either CeCe or Persephone, and so she is now getting more attention (and because I am SO fickle). The colors are PURE spring...the pinks, blues, and purples are like the flowers that never come.  April 1st was the coldest April day EVER in Utah.  Mother Nature did a good job of fooling us.  As with the sweater knitting, the next couple of shawls have made themselves known.  It takes real effort to keep them from the needles...they must wait and I must keep knitting as fast as I can.

Ah, your thoughts echo my own. I bet our respective mojos are lounging on a beach somewhere, having a good old chuckle at us.

BTW, the colors of Zetor are so very pretty.

I think your sock Mojo has been sucked in through the cosmic knitting black hole that is Sock Madness! No guess as to when it will be released...

And here I thought I had this alone..I sweated out to finish socks for Christmas gifts and I have one single sock that has been completed since..and one half of another..with no desire to finish either..as I knit along on the Louet making a shawl..or 3..
I think 'socking' will return with late summer or early fall.
As long as you continue to KNIT those lovely shawls, no time is wasted..Happy Knitting~

I think your sock knitting mojo will return with the return of the warmer weather.

On April 1, 1997, we got over two feet of snow, shattering snowfall records not only for that date but for the entire month of April. I'm happy as long as we don't do that again.

Sock mojo is a mysterious beast. It will come roaring back when you least expect it. In the meantime you have all that lovely lace to entertain you.

Our Margene has come back. Mind racing with creative ideas and not enough time. Spring HAS to be coming. I think you may go from freezing to 80. No real spring. Aren't you running out of time, too? By May, we're usually in the 80's here.

Heh. Probably the fact that I DARED to venture into the land of sock-knitting lately has upset the whole universe and stolen your Mojo. Although I kinda doubt it. My drip into the puddle .... well, I suppose it could make a ripple that reaches out to you. Nah. :D

Oh, Zetor is lovely! Heh, I'll trade you some sock mojo for some of that sweater or shawl mojo...

Those colors in the Zetor are so pretty--I don't think I'd be able to tear myself away from them either.

I can't wait to hear more about those creative ideas floating around in your head!

That socks that rock yarn is scrumptious!!

ooh but that sock yarn is lovely!!

My sock MoJo is missing as well...I've yet to cast on my first sock of 2008!

OOH, that Rainforest Jasper is divine!! That would bring my mojo back for sure. ;)

Your sock mojo is not at my house. I can't even come up with a pattern I want to knit. My sock needles have been empty for weeks--that's supposed to be bad luck, I think.

I'm thinking of making some socks from worsted weight just so I can finish them quickly. And, sadly, I'll probably be able to wear them next week if this crappy weather continues.

Hmm, is that the linen you were knitting the bathrobe out of at one point, maybe last year? Or am I mis-remembering?

We have sunshine and blooming flowers here in Portland, Oregon, and yesterday I saw a most peculiar party zooming around in a red convertible with the top down, drinking beers, smoking cigars, blaring the radio, singing and whooping, and one of the girls was waving her t-shirt over her head, displaying quite a lovely pair. Could that have been the lost sock mojos? They may be sad and sorry when they make it home.

Oh I feel sure it will be back. Maybe it's just winter/cold weather blahs for a bit.

Maybe your sock mojo is over here, since I'm close to finishing one, and I'm certainly not the sock queen.

Coldest day EVER! Holy moley, that's saying something. If that didn't make your sock mojo return, I don't know what would. Perhaps shock therapy, a week in Maui?

Maybe the mojo needed a vacation too. I have 2 socks on the needles and they just weren't doing it for me so I pu them aside and cast on a new one and it clicked. Now socks are flying off my needles this way and that. I'm sure that your mojo will return soon too.

Sock mojo is fickle. Mine disappears for months at a stretch. :( I'll be on the lookout for yours though and if seen, I'll send it home.

If I could knit lace like you...I would probably never knit another sock. Ever.

*poof* I just blew you a bit of sock Mojo Margene! It's the only thing I've wanted to knit for a while since I'm working on this pattern!

Sorry for your chilly April 1st - sounds like things are on the upswing though - we have a spring rain here today. The air is clammy and moisture seems to cling to everything. Good for growing things! :)

darn sock mojo, i hope it resurfaces!

I think I have your sock mojo, Margene. It seems to have arrived in a box that lived with the evil Stacey for a while. Does this mean you have my love of pink?

Whenever you find your mojo, tell it to send mine back my way too! I'm hard pressed to get through more than 2 rounds at a time, and I really like the pattern. Must be the lack of sleep...

Hurry back mojo! Mine came back after being MIA for months. I am working on socks that I would have to consult my blog or Ravelry to remember when I started. At least I am on the 2nd sock. I wanted to ask the universe this morning if it was bad karma to have a dead battery in your Zen?(Creative mp3 player.) LOL

Isn't it funny how we go through cycles of the most passion for different kinds of knitting? A new friend of my son's asked what was my favorite kind of knitting the other night, and I had to ponder... lace was the answer of the moment. I bet your sock mojo will return soon enough...

We have your mojo and if you ever want to see it again, you must leave a suitcase full of yarn by a rest stop to be determined...

Maybe those proto socks need a timeout or a frog. Life is short! Knit for love!

Zetor is amazing - can't wait to see more. I have that one in my wish list :-)
Sock mojo............ well, with bare toes season coming up, it's not surprising really.... just wait, next fall it will return.

You DO realize you have combined 2 "doggie" songs... don't you? 1) Where oh, Where Has My Little Dog Gone? Where, oh where could he be? With his ears cut short and his tail cut long, oh where oh where could he be? 2) How Much is that Doggie in the Window? The one with the waggly tail? just fyi

Hi Margene,
I intended to write to you but was a bit busy here, sorry.
Yesterday, I saw you sock mojo wondering between the skiers on the San Francisco slopes near Flagstaff and sent him right back to you, if all goes well it should be with you shortly.
Rachel

My sock knitting mojo has been absent as well. I've been knitting here and there on a sock my bf in stockinette, but that's about it. I think I was so motivated by socks for the past 8 or 9 months, that it' snaturally worn out for a bit. But when it comes back, I'll be happy to see it. I think I 'll be more into it by this summer.

Perhaps the frenzy of Sock Madness is sapping the sock mojo.

Hope you find your mojo soon. It would be a shame to not finish those fantastic socks.
