Friday! What's Up with You?
How is everyone? It's so quiet in Blogland and I'm wondering if it's just me. Has everyone moved on to Ravelry and/or Flickr? Tap, tap, tap...who's out there?
The week is finally over and I SO need a quiet weekend. It's been a crazy week and I've had little time to knit or relax. I'm planning some down time, a haircut and loads of knitting on Saturday and Sunday. Because life has been a bit busy I could only come up with one list today.
Random Bits
- Monday the high temperature was 81!
- Tuesday and Wednesday it snowed (and didn't reach 45)!
- Roller coaster spring weather is rather the norm this time of year and more cold is coming.
- At least the snow pack won't melt too quickly. (Looking on the bright side.)
- Because the Sock Mojo has forsaken me I have forsaken the purchase of any more sock yarn.
- However, Rebecca has a sock yarn I don't think I can live without.
- This week the soundtrack to my life has been Chris' fabulous CD mixes and the Drive By Truckers new album.
- It's their irreverence...gotta love that!
- Yes it is an album even though it's a CD.
- A collection of anything (like music) is an album.
It may still be on the chilly side here in SLC, but the lilac buds are growing each day! Hurray!!
That's it from me! Enjoy your weekend.

Your lilacs are much further along than ours - lucky! Have a great and restful weekend.

I think you sent your weather here today...it is expected to be close to 80...whoo hoo!
Perhaps it's quiet in blog land because people are out enjoying the beautiful weather :)

You lilacs are farther along than ours. That is so amazing. Our bushes have just started leafing out. Maybe, it's a different variety. As for blogland? I agree. It is very very quiet these days and I don't know why either. You can knit mitts with your sock yarn, so you don't even need to think about socks for a long time if you don't wanna. My soundtrack has been public radio. I heard Hush by Deep Purple yesterday. I love it because it is so over the top musically. Why use a little organ when you can run over the guitars with it? Have a great weekend grrrl.

Oooh, lilacs! Something I really miss down here. And our weather is somewhat of a roller coaster as well, temperature wise, although snow is not a concern...hope you have a relaxing weekend.

I'm still here- just lurking quietly :-) Lilacs are one of my favorites. Have a super weekend!

my weekend is going to begin with a very large crafter's yard sale; then a sleep over party at my LYS. right this minute though, i can hear Vivi babbling in her bed while her mom tries to grab a minute more sleep. peaceful early morning.

Oh, the anticipation... beautiful photo! Enjoy your weekend -- mine was crazy-busy like yours. I cast off a project (the only one I had with me) at knitting night on Tuesday and haven't even had a chance to think about what to do next, and can't even sit down long enough to cast on 45 sts for a dishcloth! Planning to make the weekend my own... sort of... as much as I can!!
; )

I'm here! But I guess the masses have moved on to Ravelry and/or Flickr. Or who knows. We've become old hat, Mahhgene, you and me. Heh.
Next it'll be walkers and rockers for us.
XOXO
Have a great weekend. Mine's gonna be BUSY!

Bloglines isn't updating you. Perhaps that explains the quiet?
Posted by:susan | April 18, 2008 at 07:42 AM
I thought the quiet in blogland was just quiet on my end... have had a schedule all 2008 that has only allowed one or two posts a week and figured that was why I was getting so much less in traffic. Ravelry is interesting and useful, but I get so much more depth from blog authors.... my lilacs are in bloom, and the climbing rose that intertwines their bush looks like it will start flowering before the lilacs are gone - something that doesn't happen every spring. Have a wonderful weekend!

Ravelry's quiet, too, at least on the groups I'm in. I have had two weeks of crazy and am looking forward to summer vacation at this point. Did my calendar yesterday and it's scary.
Sock mojo still missing? I've been finishing off my Sock Madness round 3 socks for a week and never tinked more in my entire knitting life. But they should be done today and worn tomorrow, yay!

Yep. You're not getting the Bloglines Love yet this morning. I must have your sock Mojo cause I've been knittin like the wind on socks! :)
Have a delightful flower-full weekend!

Bloglines isn't updating me either. It won't even ping me. What's up with that? Spring has everyone doing all kinds of things, less time at the computer. Have a good one!

I haven't seen that much knitting going on in Blogland lately. I think there is less motivation to knit cold weather items this time of year. I know that's the case for me. I still have a desire to knit though and have found other projects to satisfy that need.

Bloglines hasn't picked up yet today, but I knew you were here.
I think it's quieter because it's spring and people are finally able to get outside. Silly people.
Happy Weekend!

My lilacs (OK, they're at Gary's house, but I bought and planted them) are pretty much at the same state as yours. I guess I'll probably miss the "grand opening" this year.

It's all about the gardening! I'm taking a snack break from sifting compost, and added some mental snacking as well. Your lilacs are definitely further along than mine.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the music!
*sigh* I wish my special skills were more employable: making mix cds and captioning pictures of cat. Huh. Have a great weekend!

Maybe you buying that sock yarn you are eyeing would bring back your sock mojo unless of course you have already tried that approach to getting it back.
Posted by:Keatyn | April 18, 2008 at 06:16 PM
Have a great quiet weekend, I hope you will get at least some sun in it!
Posted by:Rachel | April 18, 2008 at 09:24 PM
It doesn't look TOO quiet over here! Love the buds - we've still got nothing. Have a wonderful weekend, Margene!
Posted by:Nora | April 19, 2008 at 05:45 AM
I'm still here! I hope you have a great weekend, too. I love lists, so your new tradition is one that I've thought about taking up myself. ;)

What lovely lilac buds. We hit the 70s for the first time this week & I think "giddy" is an apt description for how it felt to be out in it. :) Enjoy the weekend!

Pretty quiet on Ravelry, too...at least on the boards I read. Maybe people 1. Dealing with flooding, snow, other bad weather and/or 2. Enjoying Spring!
Posted by:Nancy J | April 19, 2008 at 07:02 AM
I would guess it is the various spring breaks that are cutting into blog reading. Those pesky children! :D Your lilacs look luscious!

Even apart from blogland and Ravelry (which I'm not much into anyway), everybody I know is unsettled and out of sorts. I don't know why. A long winter? The quite obvious shifts in the real world, probably due to climate change and other human impacts? Boredom with knitting? We've all reached our satiation point with sock yarn? [horrors!]
It feels as though some doom is looming. Not a good feeling.

I am out here...not posting much on my blog but still reading yours.

It has been slow, I know that I skim and comment less, trying to get away from the computer quickly and out to do things. Must be the same for everyone.

Between feeders not functioning, and spring drawing the other readers outside, all of blogland is quiet. Does your counter thingy count lurkers as well? Lately, I just haven't had as much to say, even though I have visited with just as much pleaseure as ever.
Posted by:Roxie | April 19, 2008 at 08:21 AM
/GASP! No sock yarn buying! Now that's sacrilegious! I'm sure there is a pink or a purple out there somewhere we can tempt you with.
I hate not knowing what to wear in the crazy weather.
Posted by:Stacey | April 19, 2008 at 08:44 AM
Bloglines isn't updating me either. But I think it has been particularly quiet the last couple of weeks - I assume it's a Spring thing. I'm definitely ready to ditch the snow and get on with flowers!
Posted by:Ruth | April 19, 2008 at 08:58 AM
I'm still here, just haven't felt like blogging. More in blog lurking mode than anything. Haven't really been on Ravelry much either.
I hope you have a good weekend!

I'm here, just not blogging. Maybe after my mother has come and gone.
Posted by:Tan | April 19, 2008 at 03:10 PM
Real life must be taking people away, sigh.
Posted by:Barb | April 19, 2008 at 04:09 PM
It *is* quiet, isn't it?! Everyone seems to be away somewhere. Hope they're ll enjoying spring. :)
Posted by:Romi | April 19, 2008 at 10:42 PM
I think you answered your own question..."life has been a bit busy". Everybody seems to feel that way in this transition time, from the colder to the warmer.
Posted by:claudia | April 20, 2008 at 10:36 AM
I'm still here - although I agree, it IS very quiet out there...
Posted by:Nora | April 20, 2008 at 02:25 PM
Interestingly, I've had more blog traffic this week than last. But, then, I have posts up this week. I haven't really gotten involved in Ravelry, yet, either.
And we're having the 80 one day, snow flurries a few days later weather, too.
Posted by:KarenJoSeattle | April 20, 2008 at 03:20 PM
If what's blowing through here comes on to your, you're not done with sub-Spring yet. I think we're going to wake up one morning and it will be summer.
Posted by:Sharon | April 20, 2008 at 06:43 PM
I'm guessing that the blogging is taking a back seat to gardening. And I'm not complaining, because I'm finally caught up on my Bloglines for the first time in months!
