Let's Do it Again!
Are you sick of my lists? It's become a habit tradition each Friday as it's an easy way to catch up with myself, get things off my chest and make a nice ending to the week.
- Norma started the conversation, Sandy continued it, and a button was born.
- For several months I've been carrying my own bags to grocery store.
- After I purchased them it took several trips before I was able to remember to take them in with me.
- It's now become a habit and they are so much nicer to carry than the plastic bags of old.
- Sandy's bags are much prettier than mine.
- A local farm (which was once a dairy) has started a food delivery service (mostly organic items).
- It's been wonderful to have the weekly delivery of needed items right to the door.
- By buying bulk at Costco and having regular items delivered, a trip to the small local grocery only happens once a week (if that) and it's usually for only a few items (bananas, apples and some veggies).
- I do try to buy local, but it's not my main focus.
- I go more for a good product and ease...I'm all about easy.
Ten On Tuesday Moved to Friday - Favorite Actors
- We watch very few movies.
- Consequently I know few actors by name or who is "in" at the moment.
- Clive Owen comes to mind.
- Helen Mirren does, too.
- At one time I loved Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Costner.
- I watch movies for the story line, plot or genre (Western), not the actor.
- We're more into the Indie movies than mainstream Hollywood.
- We get two Netflix movies a month and barely have time to watch them.
- I'd rather listen to music.
- This weeks sound track was Nirvana and Bob Dylan, with Miles Davis thrown in for good measure (and Lou Reed).
TMI Tuesday Friday (Thanks Stacey! Happy Birthday, btw!) I found this to be so funny and just had to "do it".
- Your boyfriend/girlfriend cheats on you with your best friend, who are you (more) mad at?
- Is there something someone could say to you that would cross a boundary of not being able to take back or forgive them?
- What non-sexual body part do you find the sexiest?
- Would you ever consider cosmetic surgery to have the perfect body?
- Have you ever kissed someone of the same sex?
BOTH! They are adults and both are responsible for their own actions. Both should have consideration for our relationship. They are both betraying a trust and both should be shot.
I believe you should forgive (for yourself), but that doesn't mean you should forget or like the person who does you harm. Life's too short to be upset and angry over someone like that. Energy is best spent in positive ways.
Oooo, I LOVE a good forearm, the inside of the arm is so-o, so-o sexy, so vulnerable.
Never. Plain and simple...never.
Yes. Ann and I had a "thing" at Rhinebeck two years ago.
A list of 25 should be plenty. Have a great weekend everyone. We're heading for bare toes and sunshine ALL weekend long.

Believe it or not, this city chick has been carrying her own bags for years! I've also been making yarn out of plastic bags lately. Must be the heat setting in ;-)

Enjoy your warmth and sun- we got that temporarily yesterday! Now we're heading for a weekend of endless rain and cold- grr!

I know you deserve your good weather this weekend but I'm still jealous! We carry our own bags to the grocery store, too. I think we've been doing it for about 6 months or so. When Dale is with me, which he usually is, he always remembers the bags. I sometimes forget them and then I feel stupid.

What a great Idea!
And I have a bag all ready to live in my bus-bag: a canvas tote from MDSW in of all colors, lime green WITH sheepies on the front...

Not sick of your lists in the slightest! - and glad you're having some nice weather. It's definitely spring here too, although not really warm enough for bare toes!

OOOH. I'm so happy for you. I want a bare toe pic on Monday. We're headed for snow showers and freezing temps. Have a terrific weekend. Heard Sweet Jane yesterday at lunch and immediately smiled and thought of you. I must be getting old, huh? I don't even remember the guy's face that was once connected to that song.

I enjoy reading your lists, you are sharing bits and pieces of you with us :-)
Zetor came out lovely btw!

I don't remember any kissing at Rhinebeck!
Happy Weekend, Margene.

My favorite canvas grocery bag (I collect them) is the one that I got in Utah last year. It says "Real Dirt Bag" on the front and is dyed with the red dirt of Moab! Always gets a few comments! The only problem with the canvas bags, though, is that those teenaged boys who pack them think don't realize how much more they hold than plastic. Ouch!

I have a stash of bags in my car. :)
Enjoy your sunny weekend! It's snowing/raining here right now...

I still cannot always remember to carry the bags into the store, and more than once have slunk back to the car to get them halfway through my shopping.
With the advent of spring, I'm strategizing how to do my grocery shopping on the bicycle. Maybe a once per week car trip for big, heavy items and shorter bike jaunts for the meal fixin's....

Never sick of your lists. Enjoy your weekend!

I always have a shopping bag with me. It is this one:
http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?searchId=13657799&itemIndex=1&CATID=255&PRODID=74340
I've decided that it's a stupid waste of money and resources to constantly get those nasty plastic bags (although I still get my fair share, which are reused as garbage bags. My local green grocer (where I shop several times a week) is kind enough to grab my bag and pack up my veggies while I'm fiddling with my wallet. By now they know that I'll hand the bag to them. Saves us both time.

I keep forgetting my bags too!
Posted by:Kathy | April 11, 2008 at 07:54 AM
I've thought of it often! ;)
Posted by:ann | April 11, 2008 at 08:05 AM
Yay! It's sandal weather! We have our own bags and I always forget them, but my husband never does. Maybe it evens out.

Hah! I -ALREADY- stole your button after seeing Sandy's post. Which reminds me, I need to wash my bags, they're getting a little grungy. I do like that Whole Foods bag - I think I might need to get one of those.

Here's to a lovely, warm spring weekend for you! I have been carrying around bags for years, and there is always a bundle stashed behind the seat in the truck... as well as my zip-up one that compresses to four inches square; you might remember it from my visits. It's for those 'extra' purchases that sneak in every now and then. I am seeing more customers at the LYS turn down my offer to bag their purchases:)

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has trouble remembering her bags when going into the store. I've started leaving them on the passenger seat and it seems to be helping. I've also put my 8 year old on the case and if she's with me she usually reminds me--they are trying to be very "green" at her school.

I loved the third set of questions and your thoughtful, intelligent answers. Especially the one about forgiveness. Needing that advice lately. Thanks.

Oh, I meant to add that a good forearm is a wonderful thing--especially with some manly hair on it--none of this downy boyish stuff! Yum.

i have a thing for manly forearms (joe has popeye forearms without the anchor tatoo)and hands.

Hmm.
1. I need bags.
2. I need to think on that sexy body part thing - I'll get back to you.
3. Have a lovely weekend filled with things that make you insanely happy. :)

This is one very nice list why did you have to stop it so soon? Have a great lovely sunny weekend!

I have bought nice bags from various stores around Salt Lake but still cannot remember to take them anywhere.
What farm?
Posted by:Tan | April 11, 2008 at 04:34 PM
Hahahah! I love your TMI. I also love my Trader Joe bags. I use them EVERYWHERE. I also have insulated bags that I carry in.
Posted by:Stacey | April 11, 2008 at 08:32 PM
I always ask people who don't do the plastic grocery bag thing -- what do you do for garbage liners? I use all my grocery bags for that, so I don't like the thought of switching entirely away. No one has yet convinced me of a better way, but I'm still looking and still open for suggestions.
So. What do you do?
Posted by:Katherine | April 11, 2008 at 10:19 PM
I suspected something was going on with you and Ann. Just a feeling, I guess. You can't pull the wool over my eyes. But I wouldn't mind if it were soft wool. :D
I did not remember the bags on Thursday. I am already a failure. But today is another day, right? New beginnings. Blahblah.
xo

Me, I'm a believe in the bag thing, but I can't seem to remember the bags. Maybe I should keep them in the car?

Enjoy the nice weather. We awoke to six inches of snow this morning. Crazy!!!! So, I plan on getting some stitching and knitting done.

i sometimes think I would have a tummy tuck...all these darn abs and the tummy just won't get flat like before the kids. I am with ann too...unfairly, I hold my grrlfriends to a higher standard. :)

I have used fabric bags for years and would often not have one with me when I stopped off to pick up a few things on the way home. I was very excited to find bags at Zellers that fold down and tuck into a pocket that is part of the bag. Folded down they are smaller than a kleenex pack. Now I always have one with me.

We had the bag conversation at work this week and it pretty much went the way that yours did. Ian is a movie person so we get Netflix. I'm not a movie or TV person which came back to haunt me this week when I need to help someone set up in one of the meeting rooms and couldn't explain how to use the remotes.
Posted by:Sharon | April 13, 2008 at 10:08 PM
we had a cold, icky weekend. the sun came out late this afternoon, but it never got above 45. i hear we're getting your good stuff starting tomorrow. we need it!

Catching up on blog reading today (have been distracted w/ Sock Madness). I can't believe it. Every time I have said something about a man's forearms being sexy, I have gotten the strangest looks! But I am not the only one! I was starting to feel like I had a weird fetish or something ;)
This is why I love a man with his shirt sleeves rolled up.... mmmm
LOL. You made my day!

Ha, I find it very hard to remember to bring my bags too even though I keep them in my trunk. Thankfully, I usually bring my daughters with me and I can usually get one of them to go do the last minute retrieval from the car. In fact, now my older daughter usually notes the omission moments before the checkout line and excuses herself to get them before I ask. We're making progress.
