- Since I missed Ten on Tuesday I thought I'd take the list thing to the next level.
- This is also a test to see if I can come up with 40 random things.
- No, forty is not my age...I'm much older than that and my birthday is not this week but next.
- My self-imposed 'on time' for work is 7:50am. I make it 99% of the time. The hours are actually 8:30am - 3:30pm.
- Wednesday, after reading Teresa C's Tuesday post), I had to have a green tea latte (with soy).
- Because of the detour to Starbucks, I was 5 minutes late. It was worth it.
- If the local coffee stop had green tea lattes I would have visited them instead.
- I finished the tea while eating a snack of Greek yogurt and blackberries (with a few sunflower seeds tossed in for crunch).
- Cheryl S surprised me at SnB with a gift of Barely Buzzed cheese. It's a local brand and very unusual, totally lovely and I'm keeping it for myself (Smith was okay with that because he thought it was weird).
- Sadly, Wednesday I fed the Rattlesnake Creek Sock to the frog pond.
- The yarn was too thick for the pattern and knitting it was causing pain in my forearm.
- A second sock was not on the horizon (because of afore mentioned pain) had the first (ever) been finished.
- Must remember to listen to the niggling voice in my head when it says, early on, that the yarn isn't working for the pattern.
- Another thinner yarn has been found and the sock restarted, plus I had to start the Fire socks. I just couldn't help myself.
- It is the process. (You knew I'd throw that in somewhere, right?)
- With four projects on the needles I'm feeling overwhelmed, but happy, too.
- The yoke of my EPS is coming along well, but there is still a lot of finishing to do on the sweater.
- I'm still hopeful it will be finished in time to wear on my birthday.
- I'm totally crazy for Mim's Zephyros Shawl from the Wooly Wonka's Change of Season Lace Club.
- It must wait it's turn in the queue, however. (Don't worry, mine will not be green.)
- Carole started Aspen Grove a full week after I did and she's already finished.
- I have at least another week of knitting ahead of me, as I'm sticking with EPS for now.
- I'm a little behind and so, you heard it here last. Sign ups for the lottery to be in Scout's Swag Sock Club start on March 10th.
- Jody is starting a new knitting ezine called Knotions. She is a fabulous knitter and has the goal in mind to help the rest of us learn more about being better knitters.
- On the main page of Knotions, you'll find a survey. Make sure you take the time to let her know what you'd like to see in the zine.
- The Knoted Blog will keep you up to date on what's new at Knotions, so make sure you subscribe to it, too.
- That's all the PSAs I have for you today. (But, they were good PSAs don't you think?)
- I have the distinct feeling spring is holding out on us (ALL of us across the country).
- I want to be warm (without the aid of wool) and feel the sun on my face.
- Sprinter sucks (at least this year).
- It would be nice if the wind chill would take a holiday. (It's been the worst this year.)
- It would be nice if I could take a holiday, too. (Plans are in the works for a short getaway.)
- I love Frank Zappa.
- Just thought I'd throw that in because, as I write, KRCL is playing Trouble Every Day from Freak Out.
- Oh and, I love Lou Reed, too.
- One more PSA: You need to change your clocks to Daylight Savings Time this weekend.
- Monday morning will suck and I'm a morning person.
- You have until March 12th, 5pm MDT (I changed the end date) to enter the Blogiversary contest.
- I'll announce the winners on the 13th.
- TGIF - Happy weekend everyone!!
Frank Zappa and Lou Reed, well that covers both ends of the spectrum :)Mim's shawl is absolutely gorgeous.
Have a great weekend yourself.

Glad you are able to start those socks again with different yarn. When I go through one of those experiences, I usually have to set the pattern aside, too. I hope the pain is gone soon.

I love your list! And I need to point out that I finished the shawl because a)I worked on NOTHING else for 3 days and b)I had those 3 days because I was sick. So there.
And spring HAS come to my house.

"Sprinter". Love it.
Vastly entertained by this post, including the PSAs. (Which is my world, is a blood test for guys.)

OMG, Lou Reed, Sweet Jane???? I haven't heard about him for a couple of years. I'm sorry about the Rattlesnake in the yarn I happened to just love, but pain is not the goal of any knitting, so I'm looking forward to the new Rattlesnakes. Thanks for the PSA's. Spring will be here. I just know it. Can't wait to lose that hour sleep. Makes me a zombie for a week. Damn. Oh, and have a great weekend.

I did not KNOW it as DST this weekend. See? Good thing you're out there doing these public services. I hate spring ahead. I'm NOT a morning person!

Great 40! I am off to check out Knotions right now....

I love random lists like that! Happy weekending, and I hope we all are warm and sleeping well throughout the weekend. (It's -6F here right now and the windchill is 5-10 degrees less than that. Grrrr.)

I think this means the sunrises I've been enjoying will be rewound and I can enjoy them all over again! Am I right? I get so confused when I spring forward and fall back -- I can't quite grasp the consequences until the deed is done.
Love the list.

I think that you're going to cause a run on Green Tea chai's (grin) I simply must have one today!
too bad about those rattlesnake socks - but too thick yarn just would be crumby.

Love the term Sprinter!
Why in hell are we still doing this earlier Daylight's savings time when it's has already been stated that we don't save energy wise over the original dates? I like waking up to some form of daylight instead of the darkness we'll be plunged into starting this weekend! Grrr!
Great list btw!

Forty was ambitious, but you did it! Very fun to read!

Too bad about the Rattlesnake socks, but they really were too thick. It will be much better for both the yarn and the sock pattern to have better partners, so splitting them up was the right thing to do.

The cheese combination doesn't sound all that strange. But I will leave it all to you. And my favorite Starbucks summer drink is a iced venti green tea with 3 shots of melon. Light and refreshing.

I really love random lists because they're always full of such helpful stuff. Sprinter! That's a good one.

Informative, entertaining, and knitting-related. What more could we want from a list of forty?
Posted by: Margaret | March 07, 2008 at 08:45 AM
This was fun!!

And I read, Change your socks for Daylight Savings. ha!!
Posted by: Judy | March 07, 2008 at 10:17 AM
It's daylight savings time already?? Wow. This year is flying by.

Great list Margene! I too can't wait for spring and the warmer weather. It will be nice to see flowers blooming again.
Hope you have a great weeknend!

Oooh, I love lists! I am lifting the list idea! Hope you don't mind. If you do, make me a list of 40 things you hate about me!
haha~
That cheese sounds heavenly!
Bummer about your sock, but it must be right!

That was a great list :) We love Frank and Lou too! Not many really understand FZ, what a genious!I was lucky enough to see him in concert about 20 years ago, sans Flo and Eddy, but great just the same!

Daylight Savings time... ugh... I hate losing an hour.
Posted by: Jennifer | March 07, 2008 at 07:23 PM
As you may know, I'm NOT a morning person and I didn't even know MDT was showing up this weekend. I HATE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME. With a passion.

Now I'm craving a green tea latte. Mmmm.

I read that I had to change my socks for daylight savings. Which I probably will do, but it was unexpected. :)
