Did and Didn't

This is the second picture I meant to post for Saturday Sky, but didn't (get it right).
This weekend there were so many things I needed to do, but didn't for one reason or another. There were things I did that were totally cool, and I'm going to share some of both with you. The first thing was I didn't get enough sleep (like many of you), due in large part to insomnia, not the time change.
Another thing I didn't do was knit on either of the socks. The picot cuff for Flickering Flames was knit a few days ago. The Rattlers did get a little attention late last week, but that's all. Both may have more attention this week because I DID finish the knitting on my EPS.
However, I didn't get all the hemming done...only the sleeves are finished, not the body.
I did knit on Aspen Grove, but didn't get very far as I had to frog it YET AGAIN! I did get everything back and track and it may be finished this week.

I did do some yarn shopping, but didn't enhance the stash. I did hope to knit the next sweater from stash yarn, but the only yarn on hand is wool, which just didn't seem like the right thing to knit with spring looming. This yarn is for the next sweater project and it did make me feel good to buy that pretty color.
We did make it to Snowbird for breakfast this weekend, but we didn't ski. If ever there was a day we wish we could ski it was yesterday. What a gorgeous day! This was the reason I didn't get the laundry finished. Guess what I'll be doing tonight.

I am really looking forward to seeing all of your EPS. I can see that this will be an exciting week. Hope today is a good one!

I think I like did and didn't better than do's and don'ts.

I am also excited to see your EPS! My days seem to have more didn'ts than dids lately ...

I *Did* notice a color trend going on over at your house. It would be the color Pink. And they are beautiful pinks. Can't wait to see your modeled EPS.

It sounds like the good things DID outweigh the other things. :-)

That Classic Silk is scrumptious...what are you going to make with it? Lots of good Dids here!

Nice list--what a full weekend you've had! I love the picot cuff on the Flickering Flames. And that Classic Silk! OOHH!!

Sounds like all the "DID"s made a fine weekend. I really like the use of the picot bind off you have snippets of.

I wish I still skied every time I come to Utah! Can't wait to see the EPS unveiling!

Man. This is Spring Break week for UVM. If I had planned ahead properly, I could have flown out and enjoyed some of that Utah with you! Instead, my schedule has been filled up by my office. Dang.

Now, that's funny, because I'm feeling an urge to knit and spin wool. Already starting to stock up for next year, maybe. It's been a **long** winter.

Yay for finishing (almost) EPS! I can't wait to see the photos from the inevitable photo shoot. I hope your insomnia goes away soon and you get some good rest.

Oh, rats, I hate insomnia! Here's hoping you catch up during the week.
Very beautiful yarn, love that color for you!

Oh, you tease! I can't wait for the reveal of the EPS.

I've been wondering about the hemming on your EPS. I know it's possible to knit in the hem in the beginning, like I have done with socks (like with a picot cuff). I don't see that being done with sweaters and I'm thinking there must be a reason. Would it work to knit in the hem on a sweater? Would that be bulkier than what you are doing? I can't wait to see your finished sweater photos!

I'm so excited about EPS! You must have been knitting up a storm to get that yoke done.

Haha! I knew you'd get the sweater finished!!! Well, MOSTLY finished! Congrats!

So much teasing going on with pictures of bits and pieces! Lovely pictures of the mountains as well. And I'm eager to see the EPS all finished and modeled.

All the "didn'ts" will become "dids" eventually. Love the mountain picture! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the sunshine this weekend.

Can't wait to see your completed EPS!
Where did you find the Classic Silk? There is a sweater in the new IK I really want, and it calls for Classic Silk. I'd love to buy it locally rather than online.

The top picture is award-winning!! I am so glad that you DID make it to Snowbird on such a glorious day... there is nothing like spring and snow together... and I am very excited you got EPS done before your birthday:) The start of a very good, even if tired, week.
Posted by: Birdsong | March 10, 2008 at 08:26 PM
Glad you are forging ahead on the EPS - in the home stretch now. My "didn't" list is way longer than my "did" list this week, I'm afraid!
