Oops...I Almost Forgot to Blog Today!
Mother Nature tried another fake out on Friday and Saturday by showing off how beautiful the blue sky of February can be. However, it was still cold and hard to stay outdoors long enough to enjoy it.
Sunday we waited and waited for an approaching storm, portended by a stiff wind that made being outdoors even a short amount of time uncomfortable. By the time the Super Bowl started, it was snowing heavily (finally!). It seems every Monday morning we've had the commuter special snowstorm. As it stands, even the weather people are sick of predicting more snow and have promised the storm coming on Wednesday will be our last for awhile. We can only hope, eh?
The weekend was busy and didn't offer as much knitting time as I'd hoped to have. However, I came very, very close to finishing Spring Things. The tropical punch color did help to warm my spirit and I can tell it's February! When 5:00pm comes there is still daylight and I know within the next week the temperatures will start to rise. I'm keeping the faith.

Your Spring Things shawl reminds me of tulips! I too am enjoying the longer days.

spring Things does look like a breath of warm air. You winters remind me of our summers, long and too hot to enjoy being outside. This year will prove especially challenging.

It does look like spring with the pretty pink!

It's great that the days are longer, I agree. Now bring on the warmth!

It's still pretty cold up here....but January is gone and the days are getting longer :-)
Your shawl is so cheerful looking!

I love the colors of the shawl. It's so uplifting. Another good point is that we are already on the 4th of February. Only 25 more days!!!!!!

So far we have had none of the bitter cold we are used to, and last night I saw a Boston-area weather man say we just have a warming trend ahead of us. Knowing me, I'll be out there planting seeds way before it's time, and the seedlings will freeze. I seem to do that every.single.year. It's like a part of the process or something. ;)

We got dumped on again this weekend--it's fabulous! Love your mountain photos, grrlfriend.
Your Spring Fling shawl is so lovely. What a wonderful color.

In spite of the longer days come February, in our part of the world that's when we usually get our bad storms, so it's a mixed blessing. You should be getting a bit of a warm-up by next weekend, but meanwhile you have that gorgeous shawl to keep you warm!

I'm so sick of snowy weather!
But it's finally February!

Wow, it didn't snow until Sunday afternoon there? We got a good foot (more by now) yesterday and woke up to at least 6 inches!!! We are all praying for Spring up here too!!!

They're predicting temperatures near 70 here tomorrow. I know that must sound nice but, since we haven't had a big snow storm, it feels premature to me. I'll trade you!

I'm going to be slightly saddened when you finish Spring Thing. It's a burst of cheerfulness when you post about it.

Lovely shawl! And it was nice to finally meet you in person on Saturday. :)

Oh, that is such a pretty shawl - you'll be stylin' for Valentines. :) We're having snow this morning, too.

You sound happier. I like that. :-)
This shawl seems like a very quick knit! Didn't you just start it? ;-)

You've whipped out the Spring Things. It really does brighten up a dreary February day. Any plans for what's next on the needles?

Our house is (well, will be) surrounded by azaleas just the color of your shawl. What a nice preview of Spring!

Spring thing is so lovely.

DH and I remarked the same thing about it being light out at 5:15pm.................spring is coming. At least you have a lovely shawl to combat the winter blues.
BTW...............the pic of the mountains and sky provide two great color choices for a knitting or dyeing project.

What a contrast between the two mountain pictures. I hope you have more blue sky than gray this week. The shawl is so pretty. I can't believe you're almost finished.

Yeaah for your tropical punch version of Spring Things... we can THINK warm, even when we don't FEEL warm. It has been nippy, hasn't it?!

Well, um..all of that snow melt will do wonders for the water level!
:D
(ever the optimist!)
