Positive Vibes
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the good thoughts, well wishes and prayers. I'm still not totally on my feet, but getting stronger every day. Nothing feeds the soul like the love and support of friends from near and far. Please don't worry if you don't see a post every day. This is meant to be fun, entertaining, a little slice of my life, and the goal is to keep it that way, not burdensome.
Saturday was such a beautiful day...the type of winter day one doesn't mind it being winter. I did get out for a short walk and quick photo shoot. It was wonderful to walk under the clear blue sky and breath the crisp, cold air. Don't you love the way the mountain is hidden behind the curtain of lacy branches? The bones of trees, which can only be seen this time of year, bring to mind lace at every turn. In fact, much of winter brings to mind elegant lace patterns, don't you think?
The saddest part of being sick for so long was missing my SnB Grrls and, most of all, our 4th Anniversary Party. Laurie founded the group and to her we are all forever indebted. We are a very tight knit group in every way and it was sad for me to miss our gatherings for so many weeks. Smith was able to drop off my swap gift before the party (we could only use one skein, an idea that came from Susan) and Susan dropped of my gift later in the week. I was lucky enough to be the recipient of her project....a small (and darling) felted bag (perfect for other one skein projects) which she had filled it with other goodies. Thank you, Susan...I love it.
The project I made was the Chevron Neck Warmer by Véronik Avery, in Kathmandu Aran. It was a fun, quick and easy project. Some vintage buttons, from my small button stash, worked out quite nicely, don't you think?

I'm working on a post of my 2007 finishes that should be ready on Wednesday. Thank you again for your good wishes. I love Blogland.

Lovely snow photos..and so happy to hear you're 'mending'..
Your S&B Grrls..sound awesome..We have a small tight knit group that get together here also..and it's amazing at the love and support they offer...Keep healing~

You must have been so disappointed to miss the SnB party and I know the grrls were sad that you couldn't be there. I'm glad you're feeling stronger but don't overdue it, okay?

TAKE IT EASY! So glad you're feeling better, but you still need to rest. Don't make me come out there!

It's no fun to miss things. I hope the penumonia gets better quickly. Bean had a pretty good case of it last summer (which she shared with me and Dr. Pig - fortunately our cases were pretty mild).

Nice swap, both ways. Just take it easy and get better. It is good to hear that you were able to get a bit of fresh air.

You picked a wonderful color for the neckwarmer--I love that warm tweedy red. It looks divine!
Meanwhile, take it nice and easy, and please don't pressure yourself. If posting less frequently helps to keep it enjoyable, then by all means do it! :-)

I am the very, very lucky recipient of Margene's beautiful neckwarmer. Words and photos can barely express just how beautiful it is. I have worn it every day since the SnB anniversary. It is soft and one of my favorite colors. I have received several great comments. I met someone yesterday who wants to now come to SnB (she is a needlepointer and very cool) after seeing this wonderful piece.

The neckwarmer is wonderful. Good to have you (and your mountain pictures) back.

So glad to hear that you are healing grrlfriend! We did miss you, though talking to Smith was fun, but weird without the mustache. Laurie is terrific and we do owe her a big thanks! I love the scent of the hand balm she passed out as a gift. We are here to hear your thoughts on life and knitting, share your humor and your observations. Life is not a contest. And we are glad you are here. Rest and recover. Blue skies! (And Saturday was gorgeous!)

Glad to hear that you're feeling better. I obviously feel the need to emulate you and have been struggling with a lovely case of Strep, that has mutated and won the battle against Penicillin. But, I'm on the mend, and excited to get back to knitting and blogging. I knitting Oblique in the Queensland Kathmandu Aran and absolutely love this yarn. It knits up beautifully.

The mountains in snow are certainly a glorious sight.
Bare bones of trees have always been one of my favorite sights. So incredibly intricate.
What a lovely gift swap idea for your BnB group. Both the give and the receive are so darling.
May your body grow stronger by the minute, and may all that you need to be well, flow to you.

Glad to hear you are on the mend. I have the pattern for the neck warmer - not the Barbara Walker book, but another one. All I need is an 18 st pattern - right? I will check in my knitting pattern books. I could use a quick knit just now!
Thanks for the 'lacy' snow pics.

Lovely neckwarmer. I need some of that yarn, I think. Love the color.
I'm so glad you're feeling better.

Glad you're feeling better! And glad we all get to see the mountains again. For my money you needn't ever write another word (not, of course, that that would ever happen), just keep the pictures coming.

I am delighted that you were the recipient of Susan's efforts, having already read her post about her original intentions for the swap. Much better choice for you... and the photos of the mountains are fabulous. Glad to hear a bit of your sparkle back!
