MLK Day Project
Usually my commute is under 3 miles, but on the snowiest day of the year (12" at my house) it was a 10 mile drive into downtown SLC. My office donated our day of work to the VOA of Utah. Our goal was to get their new digs ready to open within the week. We did some demolition, building, cleaning, painting and organizing.
It was an awesome day of service, a perfect way to celebrate the life of a great man, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

that is awesome that your work does that!
the cowboy and I visited the "All Faces beautiful" exhibit at the American Visionary Arts museum. It was amazing!

Margene - you amaze me. To most of us, it's just a day off. Thank you for making me see things a bit differently today.

Hey, that's great! And I guess you must have been feeling more like yourself again, since you were able to participate. That's also great. Wonderful, even! :-)

What a wonderful thing for your office to do! Too bad more places don't do something like that. Too bad you had to get out in that snow, though. That reminds me that I've always thought it would be nice to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.

That is so great that your office participates in community service. More companies should do that.

Amazing. Kevin and I were married on MLK's actual birthday (1/15). What a wonderful way for you to celebrate and honor his birthday!

Just catching up on the blog after my travels and once again - I find you are an inspiration! I am so happy that the world has people like you - that not only do good things, but also motivate the rest of us to do our good deed daily.
