What are Friends For?
Monday through Friday for 3 and a half years I've been talking about me, my knitting, my State...whatever comes to mind...and then I join NaBloPoMo and the mind goes blank. Thoughts disappear, ideas evaporate, and to top it off, Norma brags about being organized and ahead of the game. Bitch. We all know how easily words come to Norma, and now I know what writers block is. The ideas are there, knitting continues and grows, I have a bunch of fun fibery stuff to show off...but no words come.
Today is Vicki's birthday! It's also Laura's birthday, and I do believe it's Deb's birthday, too! Deb has a thing for November calenders...so here you go Deb....three favorite calenders. Oh, and it's Beth's birthday, too! Is this a record for birthday's in blogland?
The weekend was spent very quietly and, often, the only sound was the clicking of knitting needles. Scoop is growing so quickly...gotta love size 8 needles and worsted yarn, and I'm totally in love with her good looks. The back is finished, even blocked and I've cast on the one of the sleeves. Everyone has a mind game they play with themselves to insure all pieces of a sweater are finished. My game is to knit the back, knit the sleeves and then the front(s). In this case, I might mix it up a bit and live dangerously by knitting a sleeve, one front and then a sleeve again. Knitting should be entertaining, so why not have some fun.
Because PF is a little harsh in its state of skein, it felt right to wash and block the back. It bloomed! It softened and it looks so pretty! Seeing the back in a more 'finished' state is a real boost to knitting progress. I can't wait to have Scoop du Blueberries on my back.

Wow. That did go quickly. Maybe I should try a worsted weight sweater. Come to think of it, I haven't tried Peace Fleece either. Hmm.
The back looks very pretty. Very Margene.

I know about the blocking - I didn't officially join it - but I'm trying.
The back looks wonderful.

I found out the other day, thanks to Wanda, that Scoop now comes in bigger sizes. I've added it to my list. I love Peace Fleece, too!

And blueberries are FULL of antioxidants and good for balance and memory. True info. Heh.
Wow, all those birthdays today! Awesome.
Who, me? A braggart? A bitch? Nevah! :P

I have always loved that color of Peace Fleece. Your Scoop du Bluberries is going to be a beauty!
Posted by: Kirsten | November 06, 2007 at 05:08 AM
Scoop looks really nice in that color.
I am 2 1/2 sleeves away from finishing a sweater....hopefully, in the next week or so.
Posted by: Sarah HB | November 06, 2007 at 05:21 AM
Wow, that is fast. I think you should have to knit two sweaters in November.
Posted by: Teresa C | November 06, 2007 at 05:28 AM
Tnx for the heads up on the birthdays.
You're doing fine. Just keep tawkin'.
Posted by: Laurie | November 06, 2007 at 05:33 AM
Seeing how fast you cranked that out with Peace Fleece is tempting me to give it a try. I just love the way PF blossoms and softens once it is wet.
Posted by: Kim | November 06, 2007 at 05:41 AM
Scoop is looking lovely. I love the flecks of pink. I may to find myself some Peace Fleece.
I hope the block dissolves soon!

I didn't realize scoop du jour came in pieces.... go figure. It looks great!
Posted by: bellamoden | November 06, 2007 at 06:01 AM
Looks great! I'm very interested in getting my hands on some PF now.
Posted by: Wool Winder | November 06, 2007 at 06:27 AM
You and Carole both! I think if the back is already finished and we've only had five days this month, then you need a more challenging goal than just finishing a sweater this month! You two are making it look too easy!!!!
Posted by: mishaele | November 06, 2007 at 06:42 AM
It is going quickly. How the heck do you keep track of birthdays? I can barely keep track of them in the family.
Posted by: Judy | November 06, 2007 at 06:48 AM
Now you see why I wouldn't join that thing....and why I love knitting sweaters with heavier yarn and bigger needles! I never would have ripped that Weekend Jacket out THREE times if I didn't know how fast it would be to knit it back again! My Magpie Aran t-neck was a 2-weeker, just saying! Big is good. Love the colors in your blueberry PF!

Wow today is a popular day for birthdays.
The sweater is so pretty. It is just amazing what a wash can do for yarn.
Posted by: Tonia | November 06, 2007 at 07:09 AM
Thank you for the birthday wishes, Margene! I'm in most excellent company today.
; )

Looks great so far! Now I'm going to go eat some blueberries.
Posted by: Cheryl S. | November 06, 2007 at 07:35 AM
This is coming along so nicely! Kristi just posted about knitting sleeves (in the round) as a giant gauge swatch... good to keep in mind there is no 'one' way to get a sweater done.

It's amazing that when you commit to doing the blog every day, you seem to have little to say. I think you're doing fine. Just chatting is a wonderful way to blog. I absolutely love the PF in Scoop.

Thanks for the birthday shout out Margene. :) Hope your day is pleasant too.

Hey there, sweetpea. I know just what you mean about the words not being there. I've felt that way for weeks now. It's weird, isn't it?
Scoop is going to be gorgeous. PF is the best, isn't it? And that colorway! Oh! It will look beautiful on you!
Love you, grrlie. xoxo

Um, does it help to know that you're 1/5 done with the month?? ;)
Posted by: Chris | November 06, 2007 at 08:36 AM
I would expect that NaKniSweBloPoMo would get to anybody. I continue to enjoy what you are doing. I hope you are getting enjoyment, too!
Posted by: Sarah | November 06, 2007 at 08:38 AM
Gee - sure seems like you said a lot even with your writer's block. The sweater really is zipping along and Peace Fleece - YUM!!
Posted by: Anne | November 06, 2007 at 08:38 AM
After small needle work, I too love retreating to size 8s and seeing a sweater emerge virtually instantaneously.
At least you know you can do five days a week, I'm trying to rev up for NaBloPoMo from a measly weekly post or so -- I'm thinking there's a lot of blather I to be produced this month.

That yarn is so pretty! I can't wait to see the model shot. If you run out of words, you could always post one of your gorgeous mountain pix, with or without completed knitwear in the foreground.

That's coming right along and looking great!
Posted by: Kathy | November 06, 2007 at 09:01 AM
Cool! Yes, my next sweater just might be with big yarn!
Posted by: elizabeth | November 06, 2007 at 09:07 AM
Scoop is flying along. I'm great at knitting all the pieces, but then hit the dreaded finishing wall. I can't tell you how many pieces I have sat around that are 100% knit and just need finishing.
What's your secret?
Posted by: Kim D. | November 06, 2007 at 09:13 AM
So pretty! Love the blue. And I'm glad to hear that PF blooms, because the one time I tried to knit with it, I was seriously put off by the scratchiness. Must pick it up again!
Posted by: Leah | November 06, 2007 at 10:25 AM
What a wonderful color for you!
There's always that biorythms site, if you're really stuck for a post. ;^)
Posted by: Cookie | November 06, 2007 at 10:27 AM
You could post in pig latin and I'd still come to read that! It really doesn't matter what you say - it's just getting the "essence of you" that matters!
Posted by: deb | November 06, 2007 at 12:26 PM
Your really cookin' on the sweater. It looks great so far and I love the color of the yarn.
Posted by: Kelly | November 06, 2007 at 02:05 PM
See? When you HAVE to blog, the words get choked! Although, once you got started you really did fine. Popular day for birthdays, huh?
You are really knitting up a storm, kind of like a sweater in November too, huh?
xooox

Dang, as much as I think daily posting might be fun, the reality is just not happening for me. But you, I have faith in you.
I like that sweater, it's coming along swimmingly!
Posted by: Wanda | November 06, 2007 at 02:16 PM
The sweater is gorgeous! The knit games, yeah, fun! I'm so happy to hear you're doing KUOs again!
Posted by: Carol | November 06, 2007 at 04:55 PM
Scoop is going to be great! I am happy to see that you are doing the knitalong too ;)
Posted by: Lolly | November 06, 2007 at 05:12 PM
i am finding it hard to find something to write every day. it is a challenge isn't it? i like the color of that pf.
Posted by: marti | November 06, 2007 at 06:26 PM
scoop de blueberries - how sweet! I just love it when a yarn blooms like that.
Your felted scarf appears to just have been a tad bit thin of fiber. I wonder if Kim knows a technique to add more on after it has been felted already? The colors are wonderful despite its "airy" appearence.

as I have tried to organize the camera for 2 days now--with little success--I thought of you and others who post every week day. keep on keeping on margene.
Posted by: Kathleen | November 06, 2007 at 06:56 PM
That's some very lovely yarn! I love the colors of Peace Fleece and I can't wait to see your finished sweater!
Posted by: Jess | November 06, 2007 at 08:28 PM
I love the Peace Fleece! Scoop is looking really good. NaBloPoMo is kicking my arse! Like you, all those great ideas have left the building. And there is no way I knit quick enough for daily content. What the heck was I thinking?
Posted by: michelle | November 06, 2007 at 09:50 PM
I'm posting about sleeping. How boring is that?!
