Best Laid Plans or I'd Rather Be Knitting
Actually it was very nice when I arrived home, which made a perfect opportunity to take Moxie for a nice leisurely stroll. The beautiful days of fall will soon be behind us. Sadly, it was nearly dark by the time we made it back home and the pictures I tried to take for todays post were middling to poor. Drat! Another thing that took me off track from finishing up the planned post for today was Lark ! I'd rather visit with a friend any day than sit in front of a computer (even though I know all of you are on the other side of the screen). She dropped off two skeins of her ultra fabulous alpaca/soy silk lace weight yarn. This is Raspberry Sherbet from Sky Lark Yarns. Be still my heart...this is such luscious, luxurious yarn! The search starts for just the right pattern to show it off. Mim, what's up your sleeve?
It was a dark and stormy night.
Rather than fuss about the pictures and try to retake again and again (thank goodness this picture turned out!), I decided to spend the night knitting on a mitten.

Those are beautiful skeins! Lucky you!

Lark's yarn is beautiful, I'm happy you got a chance to visit with her.

I'll bet that does feel good!

That is pretty yarn and will make a gorgeous shawl!

I've got a shawlette that could easily be made into a larger shawl that will be coming out with the alpaca spinning fiber kit from Anne, and I'm planning a wrap out of Zephyr as soon as I get the color card and decide on a color and get the yarn sent, and I've got a bunch more ideas, but no follow through as of yet.

Yummmmmmmy. Glad you got a little walk in. Then the visit and the laceweight, that perked you up a bit, right?

Ooh, that is lovely stuff!
I need to knit some mittens too - my hands are definitely cold in the mornings ;)

Hey! Those skeins look awfully familiar. Glad you are getting to play with them a bit.

Now that is just the sort of yummy looking fiber that could inspire covetous thoughts. Enjoy! I'm jealous.

That yarn is gorgeous; I can't wait to see what it becomes.

Good call. I lust after others' beautiful photos, but I just can't be bothered to do all that's required to make them so beautiful. Sit and knit already! :)

The yarn is beautiful! I know you'll find the perfect pattern for it. I really miss the long hours of daylight. That's the hardest thing about this time of year for me.

I saw that laceweight yarn yesterday when Lark dropped off some of the Luminescence for me. Very pretty!

That yarn is lovely! What a great fiber combination. What does it knit up like?

Oh, that is lovely - did you see Mim's pattern in today's knitty surprise?
Posted by: Chris | November 08, 2007 at 08:02 AM
Oh my - that is gorgeous. Good job Lark !
Have you checked out all the shawl patterns over at Knitspot? I'm currently eyeing the cluanarch (sp?) or twinings. She has several patterns that I truly love.
(then you'd have to buy more yarn once Mim's patterns are finished.. oh darn :-)

Oh my that is lovely! And getting to sit and visit with a friend--priceless.
I'd second the vote for Anne's patterns at Knitspot, she has several lovely things that would be pretty in that yarn.

Oooh, that is so pretty! How many yards?
I too would rather sit and natter (preferably while knitting) than... do just about anything else.

Beautiful yarn, really!

I think friends in person definitely outrank friends online... especially when the in-person friends arrive bearing yarn. ;)

That Lark is a temptress for sure with her beautiful yarns! I have not seen the laceweight ones yet.....that is scrumptious! I think I could be tempted to get some for Mim's new scarf for sure!
