The sky was a constant companion on our journey. The first picture is the sky as we entered Utah from Arizona just past Lake Powell. The second photo is the Vermilion Cliffs of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness area of Arizona.
I must head west one of these days, Margene. In the meantime, your lovely photos will have to do! Thanks for sharing them.
You don't work for a tourism group, do you? ;-)
How funny that we were in the exact same area at the same time. Cary and his friend Gary backpacked Paria Canyon and I picked him up at Lee's Ferry Sunday.
The sky out there is so BIG.

What Carole said! When you live in the hilly, wooded East, you don't usually get to see so much sky at once.

Big sky! You just don't get that in Britain.

Having lived in Alberta for many years I sure do miss that big sky country sometimes. Nice pics!

When I was a kid, I used to chase and race cloud shadows on my bicycle. So much fun.

The first view of Vermillion cliffs is absolutely amazing, after you've been driving through forest and meadow. Glad to see that you had a great time.
