Let's take care of business first...several of you asked where I got the clogs and I'm happy to oblige. They are Merrell Primo Chill Slides and you can get them almost anywhere. After wearing them all day Sunday the only thing I can tell you is how much I love them, LOVE them. Maybe I should buy another pair, as they do come in many colors and they are pure heaven to wear.
Back to the "how cute is this?" segment of this post. Saturday was the last of Susan's BSJ classes at the Wool Cabin. The only thing left to do was sew up the shoulder seams and finish off the neck and cuffs (if we wished). Susan had a couple of good tips to share and we were done in a flash! A set of perfect buttons were found...aren't they just the right finish? It's just so cute and I can't wait to make more BSJs.
Even the back is darling...don't you just love the way the bottom flares a bit to fit over a diaper? The yarn I used is Brown Sheep's Serendipity Tweed, a cotton wool blend much like Cotton Fleece. The tweedy affect hides whatever inconsistencies your garter stitch may have. The colors are vibrant and a nice change from the usual pastel baby colors. The next one I make will have more stripes, but I'm very pleased with this one.
If you've been a faithful reader for very long you maybe shocked at this announcement. Jóhö is finished! (Did you fall out of your chair, Stacey?) Truly, she is fini, grafted, blocked and ready for her photo shoot. I have a special place in mind for her debut and will tell you more tomorrow. The weekend was very productive...I think the cold weather is a boost to knitting mojo.

The little sweater is adorable, but Joho...now I can't wait to see this beautiful shawl in her photo shoot!! Love it!

Two FOs! Fantastic. The BSJ is beautiful. Yes, I think the fall inspires knitting. Heat enervates all endeavors.

Wow! I was wondering if I would ever see a finished Joho. This is truly an accomplishment, since it became such a slog!!!

Okay, you've inspired me to restart my BSJ. What needle size did you use, and how big is the finished sweater? I am sooo jealous that you had a class on that thing. =)

Yay, joho and BSJ! You've inspired me to finally finish my BSJ. Than I can finish my gray DK sweater, that maybe I can wear to Rhinebeck. Of course, if I finish the sweater, it'll be too warm to wear it. Just saying...

I almost fell out of MY chair! Can't wait to see it!

I'm getting a complex with all these shawls, and me yet to do a single one! Can't wait to see it, though, and the BSJ is darling. Gotta do one of those, too! (Well, I have done a Tomten!)

You know what's cute? YOU!
Posted by: Cara | October 02, 2007 at 07:23 AM
Joho finished? Seriously? I'm astounded as I thought she was going to languish forever. You did a beautiful job (as usual) on the BSJ. I might have to make some, even though there aren't any babies coming in the near future. I can always stash them.

Good job on Joho... a personal best in perserverance to say the least! The BSJ is adorable.. I have been checking out my stash to make one, as our shop owner has been offering a class and there are a few samples lying around. Marcia's comment reminded me that I made myself a tomten a long while back and should photograph it for Ravelry... that EZ could keep a knitter going for life!

Your knitting is lovely, as always.
One more shoe question, please. My search for the slides came up with only medium width. I usually have to go up a width to wear a shoe over fingering-weight socks. You obviously are comfortable in these -- would you normally wear a medium width? Do they run wide?
Just asking.

Yay! for finishing Joho :).
That BSJ is adorable! The buttons are perfect and I love how the stripes run straight across the back.

HOLY SHIT! I'm so shocked and stunned I'm going to have to stay home from work today to recover. :) I'll bet she is absolutely beautiful and that you'll love her - I can't wait to see her in all of her glory. Plus she'll stop sending me the secret "HELP ME" messages.
