Phyllo Debuts at the Lake
As lucky would have it, Sunday at Silver Lake was perfect sweater weather. The day was cloudy and blustery with just a tiny chill in the air. Phyllo and I enjoyed her debut.

We danced around the forest and at the waters edge in celebration of cooler days to come. It might just be that the worst of the heat is over and sweaters will be de rigueur before long. Phyllo will be the perfect companion for the cool days of fall.
Phyllo and I could have spent all day watching the wind dance across the water and the clouds above move across a palette of the blue sky.
Phyllo Yoked Pullover from Knitting Nature by Norah Gaughan
Yarn: Calmer
Refresh
487
Time to Knit: July 12 – August 5, 2007
Comments: The only modification was to knit the body and sleeves 2" longer.
There are no errors in the pattern, but you must remember to increase in the K2tog on the yoke. That's the only pitfall I can see. This sweater was fast, fun and fabulous to knit.

Oooh. I just purchased that book. That sweater looks gorgeous.
Knitting Nature must be one of those rare books where my husband finds it interesting, him loving maths and all. :)

Look great! I've been thinking about making that sweater with some stashed Calmer I have, and I think you just convinced me to do so! I really love that yoke.

Wow - fabulous! Love that color on you.
That setting looks so very peaceful - scoot over on that rock, so I can sit next to you and gaze at the mountains and the water.

Very nice!

It looks beautiful. I put in on my queue list on Ravelry, went to the library and checked the book out. I do have a question though. In the book pictures, it seems pretty off-the-shoulders. Is that the case? I'd like to knit it, however, being a "full-figured" gal :), I'm wondering about the look with bra straps exposed.

Just lovely! Margene-perfect, of course, and what a color! ( I couldn't help smiling at the setting, thinking, hey, I KNOW that tree! I've seen that view in person!) Great shots, too: must be nice to have your own personal project photographer!

Posted by: kat | August 22, 2007 at 07:13 AM
Your sweater looks beautiful and is SO flattering on you! Great job, Margene! The picture in the book does look like the neckline is practically off the shoulders, which I didn't care for, but your sweater looks just perfect. Maybe I need to get my hands on that book after all. You always inspire me!

Oh, WOW. It's beautiful, Margene, and looks beautiful on you. And in Calmer?!? I'd have a hard time taking it off.
