Beth was bemoaning, in her comment to Wednesday's post, that everything around here has been 'knitting the blues' (not that there is anything wrong with that, eh TeresaC?). Beth missed my 'pink phase' and frankly I have missed it (and other colors), too. It wasn't my intention to knit two blue sweaters in a row...that's just how it worked out. In fact, I have missed sweater knitting altogether and have made it a goal (as much as I'm capable of goals) to get busy and (keep) knit(ting) something more than socks. While I haven't really been in a knitting slump, I have been distracted by spinning. Socks are always easy to knit, good 'fall back' knitting and so, they were/are my 'main' knitting. Time to mix things up a bit. Who knows...I may even knit some real lace soon.
This week the knitting has been schizophrenic because I've been jumping from Monkey's to FJ. It's been pretty fun to swing from knit to knit, actually. The January One STR has reminded me how much I love a mix of colors.
Several times over the last few of months, I've pulled this gorgeous yarn from my stash in the hopes of finding the perfect pattern for it. Also, for some time, I've admired Erin's Glee. After checking out the pattern (not to rub it in, but Ravelry rocks!) from Erin's Ravelry page, I realized the yarn and pattern may work out to be compatible! I'll be swatching to make sure (AFTER I've finished FJ). What's the yarn, you ask? It's Plain & Fancy Wool Co.'s Sport, purchased last year at the Estes Wool Market, (this years is less than one month away) in the color Magenta.
Speaking of Wool Festivals, tomorrow a few of us Ewe-tah grrls will be heading off to Idaho Falls for the Snake River Fiber Fair. A full report will be coming your way next week. Have a fabulouso weekendo!

Have a great weekend! Looking forward to what you come home with.

I remember when you bought that yarn. I can't believe it's been almost a whole year since my trip! Have fun this weekend!

I just found out the RI is having our first annual wool festival tomorrow. Even though it is supposed to rain, I can't wait to go. I hope you will have better weather than we are supposed to have! Have fun at the festival (as if I even needed to say that - when aren't wool festivals fun!!).

It has felt like home over here. You won't stray away from the blues for long, who can?

Isn't it weird how our knitting seems to go in color cycles? Purples and pinks are usually on my needles somewhere, but I've been doing a bit of blue lately, too.
Have a great time at the fair!

I really like the yarn that you have planned for your next sweater....I can't wait to see it started :-)

that's a beautiful capture of the unopened Flag; an iris right? it's so dry here that very little is blooming.
Ravelry is indeed groovey, when will it be ready?

Erin's Glee is great. it made me knit my own! That will be a nice yarn for the pattern - so wearable. I am hoping to make another one myself!
Have a fabulous weekend :)

I NEVER liked the shots of January One on the BMFA page. I just didn't like the way the brown sat next to the dirty looking red.
But knitted up colours that really don't look like "me" are suddenly gorgeous and sexy and inspiring!
The BMFA ladies owe you a big thanks cos I'm off to buy some for meself!
Beautiful!
Also, I can't wait for Ravelry to come out of Beta cos that's the only way I'd get to join it. My hair is itching I'm so eager for it!

Glee is a very cute sweater! I can see that orange wouldn't work for everyone, but it sure did for Erin, just as your magentas would look fab on you.

Have fun at the fiber fair! Glee looks like it would be a bunch of fun to knit, doesn't it. Go for it!

Not EVERYONE is knitting blue stuff. :)

Yes! I've been thinking the same thing--I've been off in sock-world for way too long, and need to shake things up a little. I want to do a bunch of warm winter accessories, maybe start a cardigan... or even something Fair Isle-y...
And I'm absolutely dying to get on Ravelry. ;-) You're all having such fun with it!

Have a fun day at the fair! ; )

Glee's definitely cute, and I bet it would look great in that yarn. Or course, if it were me, I'd probably knit it in blue. ;)

Doesn't matter what you're knitting Margene, I love it all and it's usually way more than what I'm getting done at any given time - pink or blue, socks or sweaters - I love it all. :)
Have a fun safe trip and I'm looking forward to reading about your acquisitions and seeing pictures next week!!
