A Great Way to End the Year
Finishing Ariann was a perfect way to cast off 2006. She is warm, cozy and very chic...a sweater to wear and love all winter.

Ariann kept away the chilly mountain air during our photo shoot at Solitude’s Moonbeam Lodge. Bonne Marie knows how to design a fun to knit sweater, with easy finishing, fabulous fit and real runway chic. Once the last stitches of Ariann were cast off, the only thing left to do was weave in a few ends, and since I use the spit/splice method to start a new skien, there were very few ends. After blocking, which one must do with lace of any sort, the yarn softened, bloomed nicely and Ariann's lace opened up to show off the unique patterning. If I could sing, I'd sing loud and high praises of Beaverslide's wonderful yarn. This is my favorite worsted yarn, hands down.
If I could sing and dance, I'd throw a gala for Bonne Marie, a designer for grrls who love style and chic design in their knits. Every pattern of hers that I've knit and has ended up being worn and loved. And, just so you know, I've knit many Chicknit patterns.
Pattern: Ariann
Designer: Bonne Marie of Chicknits
Yarn: Beaverslide Wood Rose Heather Worsted 90% wool 10% mohair
Knit for: Ariann KAL
Time to Knit: October 9, - December 26, 2006

It looks FANTASTIC! I love it belted and the color is just lovely on you! Radiant! As for Beaverslide, my worsted weight yarn diet has begun . . . perhaps when it's over :-)

Ariann and Margene both look wonderful in that partnership. What a lovely knit!

Does Bonne Marie use you in all her advertising? She should! I'll be back to the Ribby Cardi by next week, I hope, after having been waylaid by some gift knitting. Every time I think of Bonne Marie, I think of you somehow!

The sweater looks wonderful Margene! I saw Ariann 'in person' at Bonnie Marie's trunk show here in Chicago last month. Whenever I take the leap to make a sweater I'm sure I'll start with one of her patterns - they look great & everyone always sings the praise of her designs.

I am on a Cascade 200 binge and just bought some for Ariann my next sweater! I think my next worsted project should be that Beaverslide, though!

Oh, I LOVE it. You look marvy, and that color is a wonderful choice, both for you and the sweater. I'm tempted to buy some Beaverslide now for mine, BUT I'm trying to knit from my stash, and I'm thinking that my Green Mt. Mohair might be nice for this....

Your sweater is gawjus. I love the soft rose color too, very flattering. I have to make it a goal to knit one of the many sweaters on the chick knits site. There are so many to choose from, that it's almost overwhelming. Here's to a Happy New Year to you too!
