Overwhelmed
Susan and I are overwhelmed at the response and the generosity of knitters far and wide. We are trying to keep up and thank everyone of you who have donated time, money and prizes. We can watch the emails come in and they do come more quickly than we can handle. The tally you see if far from the dollars total given. We'll update the figure as we can. Please bare with us as we work to keep up and thank you all for your generous support.

I'm Canadian and have donated money to the Cdn Red Cross Katrina Relief- does my entry count?

If I can help in any way, please let me know.

You ladies are awesome. I put your buttons on my blog entry today, and donated, and I'm just astonished at this amazing outpouring of generosity. Well, I say I'm astonished, but I remember the Knitters Without Frontiers effort, and yowsa, when it comes to stepping up to the plate to help, knitters rock :-)

What a wonderful way to be overwhelmed! Yay for you! And it must certainly be why I'm having trouble getting to the Red Cross online donation site... I went to BrettFavre dot com, instead, being a Packer fan and all, and donated to the BF Fourward Foundation's Mississippi hurricane relief -- 100% of donations will be used for the relief effort. I'll just have to keep trying the Red Cross...

I'm attempting to send a donation via Paypal. Am I doing this wrong because it's saying that the 'givealittle@gmail.com' address is not yet registered with paypal.
I'm missing something, aren't I. :)

I just got power back at work -- I'm in Mobile, Alabama. Even here, where the damage is mostly near the water, the situation is heartbreaking. Folks who have lost everything just walking around, stunned. They don't know where to go for help and have no cars to get there, even if they did. A friend who was in that area gave a family a case of water and all the food he had in his car and you would have thought he had given them gold.
Thank you for all your help -- it means so very, very much.

What a great thing you've organised! I'll be donating this weekend and will let you know.
Love your Hanging Vines. I have that pattern somewhere, I must dig it out.

I can't believe how fast the total has escalated. It makes me feel so good to be helping out!

Hi, Margene,
I'm visiting via Snowball's link. You and Susan have done such a brilliant thing here. I am donating to AmeriCares through my office's matching-donation program, but I am setting aside some additional money so that I can help here, too.

Great fundraising idea. I gave just before coming over here, but I'm just happy to have given what I could anyway. It doesn't matter how it gets there, as long as it does. It is nice to see how many people are willing to give away prizes to help motivate others who might normally keep a tighter hold in the ole purse strings. It's also nice to see the dollar amount rise and know that knitters are a caring bunch.

I donated to Red Cross before I new about what was going on over here. We do have some very nice knitters in the world around us!

Margene, I am blown away to see that the contributions have tripled in two days, since I checked on Friday! I wanted to let you know about a new Yahoo group, Cloths for Katrina. Two e-friends, Sallee and Kitt started this to collect knitted and crocheted facecloths to be distributed directly to shelters. Kitt rode out three hurricanes in Florida last year and wanted to give back since they received so much assistance, as well as having a huge amount of empathy for the current victims. Here's their URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/clothsforkatrina/. As soon as I can remember the html to link your button and theirs, I will have both activated on my blog... thanks so much for your tireless efforts.
