2005 Begins
Here we are 3 days into the new year. It looks like many people had a flurry of finishing up knitting projects, organizing stashes, getting blog re-dos and , in general, feeling positive about the new year ahead. Jenla has a great 2004 blogland wrap up. And they threw down the gauntlet! While it wasn't the best weekend to be in the canyons (mostly because of plumbing repairs, cloudy skies, short on time and butt back pain), how could we disappointed you on Monday morning with no majestic views?
I toddled out the back door to show you the snow covered and cloud crowned mountains that we can see from our place...beautiful despite the gray, cloudy day.
I was able to do everything on my 'first day of 2005' list but, New Years Eve was the first time in my adult life that I slept through the celebration. It was a very painful weekend until I talked to Shelby. What a thrill to hear the voice of someone to whom I have felt connected since the first time I visited her blog. She has yoga therapy experience and talked me through several stretches that have been helpful. PT on Wednesday will most certainly put me on the road to recovery. Thank you ALL for your positive and caring thoughts.
The Kersti KAL Blog has been deleted (giving me more bandwidth) and I know there are some Kerstier's who are finishing up or still working on their project. Please let me know when you're ready and I'll post a link to your project. My plan is for that space to become "my community" blog with buttons and links to many of you that I read daily. The buttons are wonderful but take up so much space on the side bars of the main blog. The new community page will be unveiled soon.
At home we have been surviving (barely) with dial-up. You won't believe it but, we only connect at 28,800. It's the pits, mostly because there are so many blogs I can't read or comment on during the weekend. Smith is getting cable hookup for his (early) birthday gift. We can't wait!
Watching the news this weekend was so heart wrenching. Seeing pictures of the devastation, death and sorrow , along with the stories of families lost or torn apart has made me feel very blessed, but very sad. More than once have I been brought to tears by the stories and pictures. There are many places to give money (which they need most of all) but, please be careful, as the scamming has already started. This blogland community is always ready to give to those in need and it's a priviledge to be among so many caring and generous souls.

Ah yes, the 28,800 connection. I know it well. Earthlink FINALLY got DSL in this area, and I signed up as quickly as I could.
SO glad to hear the yoga stretches are helping you. Healing thoughts are headed your direction to carry you through until Wednesday.
Side note: The yarn shop where Judy was (is?) working has been sold to a CPA out of Boise. I'll keep you posted as to what happens to it. I'm hoping she'll keep the little store located where it is, and that Judy will continue working there!

Good morning, Margene. Once again a-Monday, you have not disappointed. What a stunning photo. NOW, YOU LISTEN UP: You get better, you hear!?

I am so sorry about your back pain. Pain of any sort can be so depleting. HUGS (gentle ones)! Thanks for sharing the breath-taking photo!

Beautiful pic! We got a bit of snow this morning too.

Beautiful! I look forward to your Monday photographs ... longing for the scenery that you haunt. Outside my window is tannish-brown with a bit of white showing through, as the snowplows have been out. Though, on Thrusday, through the freezing rain, the trees were the most glorious shade of pink I have never seen. Who knew what frosted water could do to bare bark?
Safe and swift healing. I'm sending what extra light I have your way.

I can't believe that's what you see outside of your place. I see a home store (they sell $30 sets of coasters and other overpriced gifts), a coffee shop, and a gym.
Oh, and most mornings, Planned Parenthood protesters. I'll spare you of a picture of that view.
Feel better, friend.

I love the photo, thank you for sharing your world. Wish I could help share your pain!

Happy New Year, Margene! I like your sky pictures almost as much as your knitting photos...

It was so strange. About a week ago I had a dream, and during the course of the dream, I was taking a flight into Utah, Provo to be exact. Anyhow, a van picked me up at the airport, and though I cant recall where I was headed, I looked out the window and there was the most picturesque, serene view of snowy mountains, at the base of which resided mist-enshrouded pine trees. And in my dream I thought, WOW! That looks just like a picture from Margene's blog, I'd better take one for myself and blog about it, because no one would believe me if I didn't.
So how screwed is that? LOL Naw, just goes to show you how much of an impact your landscapes have on me. Today's is no exception!

Great picture. I remember the first time I visited your blog (almost a year ago), you had a picture taken from your house. I thought it was/is such an inspiring, peaceful view. You are in a beautiful part of the country.
I'm so ashamed about the Kersti-along. I *will* finish that sweater some day. :)

Such a beautiful view you have! All I get to see out my back door is a road. Thanks for sharing.

Even though I see them nearly every day, those mountains just take my breath away.

You live in such a beautiful place, it almost makes the slow conection worth it!

28.8? I'd have a nervous breakdown at less than DSL. (And people wonder why I don't camp!)

It is indeed a privilege to be on the giving end instead of the receiving end. I sincerely hope that you'll be back to your old self soonest!

The photo is beautiful Margene and I hope you are pain-free soon. Happy New Year!
